Welcome to the gravity room. You can locate this ruin on our interactive map. The Tower of Fantasy C-02 Ruin spawns you into a room with a gravity lift. Simply walk up to the gravity lift and enter the main ruin area. You will land on a stone platform with a few Aberrants and stone statues. These Aberrants are like ones you have already fought previously. Simply dodge their attacks, and you’re fine. Now that’s done, head over to the statues and rotate each one until the square light on their chests turns blue. This indicates the statues have activated the appropriate colored gravity lift around the wider room.

Easy Chests: Firstly, one cavern is found to the right of the main stone platform area, closest to the yellow-colored gravity lift. This has a few Aberrants knocking around that you can beat with a chest against a back wall. The other chest on easy mode is near the yellow gravity lift. Fly upwards until reaching a purple mushroom cap. Glide over to the floating stone monoliths with the gravity lifts, and then you’ll see another chest on top of a mushroom guarded by two Aberrants.

Walkthrough: To progress with the main mission, you want to use the green grav lift to get to another platform directly in front of the two main grav lifts from the stone statues. The new platform is the main mission progression, in which you encounter new Aberrant enemies called Scorpions, more regulars, and then a Goliath. Once again, there’s nothing special; just kill them and be done with it. The Goliath does hit rather hard, so try to avoid its charges and heavy swings. Once you’re done, you’ll encounter a big drop down, and another grav lift. This takes you to the boss encounter, and you’ll be fighting Barbarossa. This is the exact same as the Joint Operation / World boss version of Barbarossa. If you’ve done this before, you’ll recognize most of the boss’ skills.

Boss Fight - Barbarossa Tactics: Drop down, and you’ll find Barbarossa waiting at the end of the Ruin. The main things to watch out for against Barbarossa are the pounce, tail swipe, jump, left paw, and roar skills.

  1. Roar - The boss uses both of its dog heads to roar in front of the boss. Players caught in the roar will repeatedly take large chunks of damage until the roar ends. All you need to do is dash to the side or to the back of the boss to avoid it. That way, you can still continue to attack the boss while it is locked into its roar for a few seconds.
  2. Jump - The boss jumps into the air and comes crashing down. The area the boss intends to land on will have a volt effect on the floor, which is the marking to avoid. This then spreads out in a donut shape to hit for a second time. Dodge the boss and then move further back to avoid both hits. Try to keep two dodges available for this skill.
  3. Left Paw - This is the boss; it swipes the players with a basic attack. Simply avoid it when you see the paw start to raise up.
  4. Pounce - Barbarossa rears backwards slightly, and then tries to pounce on the player’s position. If it connects, both heads will bite you while you’re pinned to the ground. This move does a lot of damage and can kill easily.
  5. Tail Swipe - Barbarossa does a 360 attack hitting players in all directions. If you see its body arc around, dodge outwards and away from the boss to avoid taking any damage.

If you’re careful with these five move patterns, then you will be fine and complete the Tower of Fantasy Ruin C-02. You’ll then return to it later when you have unlocked normal and hard mode when the level cap increases and you get a better gear score.

Ruin C-02 Chest Locations (Easy Mode):

  • Head to the cave platform near the yellow grav lift on all difficulties.
  • Fly to the top of the mushroom cave via the stone floating grav lifts to get this on all difficulties.

Note at the time of writing, there is only easy mode available. We will update this article when we unlock normal and hard with the new chest locations. We will stick all screenshots and notes on the chests here to not totally disrupt the flow of the walkthrough section.
