The core gameplay loop in Valorant revolves around tactical 5v5 objective-based combat. Players select unique Agents, each with distinct abilities, and are divided into two teams: Attackers and Defenders. The primary objective is to win rounds by eliminating the enemy team or completing a specific objective. Attackers aim to plant a Spike (a bomb) at designated sites, while Defenders strive to prevent the plant or defuse the Spike if planted. Rounds are won by achieving these objectives or by eliminating all opposing players. The first team to win 13 rounds wins the match. Between rounds, players earn credits to purchase weapons, armor, and more abilities, adding a strategic economic layer to the loop.
