12.17 Neon: Duelist Speed and Entry

Patch 12.17 saw Neon continue to be a high-octane Duelist, focused on overwhelming opponents with sheer speed and aggressive entry. Her kit is designed to get her onto sites quickly, disrupt enemy defenses, and create chaos. Neon's ability to move at incredible speeds makes her a unique threat, capable of flanking rapidly or pushing onto sites before defenders can react effectively.

Neon's High Gear ability allows her to sprint at an increased speed. This is her fundamental movement tool, enabling rapid rotations and aggressive pushes. When High Gear is active, she can also slide, allowing for quick directional changes and evasive maneuvers. This slide can be used to quickly enter a site or to dodge enemy fire. On Ascent, Neon can use High Gear to quickly push through A Main or B Main. On Bind, she can sprint through Hookah or U-Haul.

Her Fast Lane ability deploys two walls of static energy that propel Neon and her teammates forward at high speed. These walls also block enemy fire, creating a safe corridor for entry. This is Neon's primary tool for initiating site takes. On Haven, Fast Lane can be used to push onto A Site or C Site, creating a safe path through the open areas. On Split, it can be used to push through B Main or A Main.

Neon's signature ability, Relay Bolt, is a projectile that bounces twice and electrocifies enemies it hits, causing them to become concussed. This is an excellent tool for clearing out corners or disrupting enemy positions before pushing. It can be used to stun enemies holding tight angles or to disorient defenders on a site. On Icebox, Relay Bolt can be used to clear out enemies hiding behind the containers on A Site. On Fracture, it can be used to stun enemies in A Hall or B Main.

Her ultimate, Overdrive, allows Neon to channel her bio-electricity, increasing her movement and firing speed significantly. While Overdrive is active, her accuracy is also improved, and her shots become more lethal. This ultimate is designed for aggressive plays and multi-kills. On maps like Breeze, Overdrive can be used to sprint across the open areas and take down multiple defenders. On maps like Pearl, it can be used to rapidly push onto a site and eliminate defenders.
