Walkthrough for Part 5 of Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness. Learn how to defeat dragons, skeletons, and powerful bosses like Deathwing, and secure victory.
Walkthrough
- 1Immediately build a Town Hall and Lumber Mill. Get the first Archer upgrade and start building Farms.
- 2As Dragons begin attacking from the north, send two Paladins and Khadgar via transport around the coast. Save before unloading.
- 3Unload your heroes, retreat the transport, and rush them towards the mini-lake, avoiding a tower. Use Blizzard on the tower once you stop. Heal your troops and proceed north between trees and rock, destroying skeletons. Be mindful of your troops taking a long route; Khadgar's ranged attack is crucial if dragons appear.
- 4Head north to a fork. The right path leads to additional troops (Ogre, Grunt, Axe Throwers). Heal up and engage. Note that dragons won't attack this area, making it a safe spot for healing and mana recharges.
- 5Simultaneously, defend your base from dragons using Destroyers or Archers. Use the remaining Paladin for healing. Keep building Farms and get the second Archer upgrade. Since you cannot build a Keep, Ranger training is unavailable, but the upgrade is still beneficial.
- 6Once you have enough Farms, build a Shipyard and start collecting oil. You can build a Refinery but not a Foundry, limiting transport and battleship production.
- 7Produce Destroyers and position them around your platform; they are effective anti-dragon units.
- 8With Khadgar's group, heal and send nine units (including Khadgar) south through a rock opening and west. Inch forward to reveal towers before they can attack. Destroy skeletons and retreat if dragons appear.
- 9Use Khadgar's mana to destroy the first cannon tower with spells (e.g., 200 mana worth), then retreat and wait for recharge. Repeat for the second tower.
- 10Beyond the towers, you'll find skeletons and a catapult. Use Exorcism to make skeletons abandon the catapult. If it attacks, use Blizzard and retreat. Destroy it normally if it remains.
- 11Proceed down the rock wall to free prisoners, including Khurdran and Sky'ree. Retreat back to your safe point. Khadgar does not need to be extracted from the area.
- 12Ensure you have nine or ten Destroyers near your platform. If not, produce them.
- 13Move Khurdran north from the platform to find the dragon lair and Deathwing. Deathwing has 800 HP.
- 14When Deathwing moves, lure him back to your Destroyers. He will fly into the trap and be killed. If he retreats with low health, send Khurdran after him.
- 15Use Khurdran to destroy the lair. Retreat to Khadgar for healing if necessary. Winning this level secures victory.
