Special Attributes:

  • Can not carry any items, except for their net.
  • Immune to "Fear", "Net", and "Steal" spells.
  • Free movement over all terrains (flying).

Summary:

Harpies are flying units with below-average combat statistics but an extremely powerful ability, requiring some micro-management to use effectively. Creatures ensnared in a net are completely helpless until dropped, and can be dropped in locations such as chasms or water to kill them instantly. You can also use the ability to drop friendly units behind enemy lines.

The best place to drop an ensnared enemy by far is the cauldron. Any enemy dropped in the cauldron is instantly killed, and also provides you with 20 mana! This ability is best used to eliminate strategic high-threat targets, as it is effectively a one-hit kill. However, while powerful, it is likely not enough to win a game on its own. You will still need to build up an army of regular, more powerful units to achieve your objectives.

Tips
  • Use the Net ability to drop enemies into chasms or water for an instant kill.
  • Dropping an enemy into a cauldron instantly kills them and grants you 20 mana.
  • Use the Net ability to reposition friendly units behind enemy lines.
  • Be wary, as a Harpy carrying a net will drop it if attacked.
  • The best way to counter Harpies is to have plenty of ranged units around.
  • Killing an enemy dropped into a cauldron grants 20 mana.
