Detailed walkthrough for Captain Blood's story campaign, covering each chapter, map hazards, and strategies for overcoming them. Includes minimap indicators for items and structures.
This section details each individual chapter of the entire campaign and identifies several hazards and ways to overcome them in each map contained within them. Before you read anything else from this section, you may wish to view the Tactics section, which will outline several useful strategies that can be implemented on most maps. This will give you the most complete understanding of how to succeed on any given level.
Each description of a map will be accompanied by a small picture of the minimap for it. The maps have been edited with a couple of indicators:
- Black 'X': Signifies an "item location". This is not the same thing as an item, as item locations do not always have items on them. An item location is simply a location on the map where it is _possible_ for an item to spawn at the start of the game. Each time you start a map in Blood & Magic, it randomly distributes a pre-determined pool of items for that map amongst a random selection of the possible locations. If you restart a map, the items will be distributed differently to the first time you played it. The author was as thorough as possible when marking these locations - continually restarting each map, using the reveal map cheat code, and taking note of everything as quickly as possible to ensure the locations were marked before wandering units could pick any items up. In general, if the map was restarted three or four times without finding any new item locations, the information was considered fairly complete. There is a chance, however, that some were missed, due to the nature of random item distribution. If anyone finds any item locations that were missed, they are encouraged to email the author with the name or description of the map it was found in and fairly concise details about where it can be found. A screenshot of the item as proof (and for accuracy) would be even better.
- Coloured Square (Outlined in black): This represents a structure (typically a mystical site) owned by the player who shares its colour. It can also represent a Keep or other objective-based structure, which are typically different in size to a mystical site.
- Coloured Square (Outlined in white): This represents a Bloodforge owned by the player who shares its colour.
- Light Brown Square (Outlined in black with a white 'x' in the middle): This represents a foundation, where a player can construct a mystical site.
