Mudraptor Strategy Guide

Learn how to effectively deal with Mudraptors in Barotrauma. This guide covers their behavior, weaknesses, and strategies for survival and combat.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Health: 150
• Damage: 25 (melee)
• Speed: Fast
• Weaknesses: Fire, Explosions, Blunt damage. They are vulnerable to being stunned.
• Behavior: Aggressive, often attack in packs, can climb ladders and enter submarines.

Phases:

1. Approach: Mudraptors will swim towards the submarine or player, often from multiple directions.
2. Attack: They will attempt to board the submarine or engage players directly, using their claws to deal damage.
3. Retreat/Regroup: If heavily damaged or facing overwhelming resistance, they may retreat temporarily, but will likely return.

Strategy:

• On the Submarine: Keep internal doors closed and be ready to defend entry points. Use shotguns, harpoons, or flamethrowers at close range. Mines and traps can be effective.
• Outside the Submarine: Maintain distance. Use weapons with good range and area-of-effect capabilities like grenade launchers or coilguns. Fire is particularly effective.
• Teamwork: Coordinate attacks with crewmates. Designate roles for defense and offense.
• Environmental Hazards: Use the environment to your advantage. Lure them into hazardous areas if possible.
• Prioritize Targets: Focus fire on one Mudraptor at a time to quickly reduce their numbers, especially when they attack in groups.
