Alright, so you've made it to Deadlift, probably the first real roadblock in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. He's a step up from Flame Knuckle, but don't worry, we'll get you through this. The arena itself is pretty wild, with tons of jump pads and multiple levels. Just keep an eye out, because Deadlift isn't the only thing trying to kill you – there will be plenty of Scavs running around too.

Deadlift has a few tricks up his sleeve, mostly centered around shock damage, so your shields are going to be your main concern. He'll electrify sections of the floor – you'll see the textures change, so get off those spots when he's about to light 'em up. He also has a laser beam attack and can send out slow-moving balls of electricity. Because of all the shock damage, your shields will drain fast.

You've got a couple of ways to tackle him. One is to use those jump pads to stay mobile and chase him around the arena. The other, safer option is to hang back on the ground level with a ranged weapon, like a sniper rifle. Deadlift doesn't always stay low, so you might not get as many shots, but it's a much less risky approach.

Deadlift Grounded

Once you've finally put Deadlift down, use the jump pads to get to the top of the room. You'll find the Digistruct Key in a toilet – yeah, really. Grab it and use the exit. Before you move on, there's a side mission called 'Last Requests' nearby that you might want to pick up. Head through the Kraggons and hop across the platforms until you reach the other side where some Scavs are waiting.

Make your way to the waypoint and insert the Digistruct Key into the device. It won't work at first, so Janey will tell you to give it a smack. Melee the device, and it should start up. Summon a vehicle and drive to the next waypoint on your map. This will take you back to Serenity's Waste. Go back to Janey, grab the Orbatron, and you'll wrap up the 'Marooned' mission.
