Zapped 1.0

Learn how to complete the Zapped 1.0 side mission in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. Get tips on killing Scavs and igniting them for Janey.

Alright, so you've just finished 'A New Direction' and Janey's got a little test for you. This one's called 'Zapped 1.0', and it's available at Level 11. You'll find it in the Triton Flats, pretty close to the Crisis Scar exit – you know, the one with the vehicle spawner. Completing it nets you 681 XP and 28 dollars, which is always nice.

Basically, Janey's handing you a prototype laser weapon and wants you to try it out on some Scavs. Your main goal is to take down 15 of them using this laser. But here's where it gets a bit spicy: Janey will chime in with an optional objective to ignite 5 Scavs. She reckons an oxygen-rich environment is the way to go for this. So, you'll want to lure these Scavs inside buildings, where the air is thicker, and then blast them with the laser. The trick is, they need to die from that burning damage over time for it to count towards the optional objective.

Heads up: There are usually more Scavs hanging around than what the map shows, so don't be afraid to explore, especially the Darksiders camp. Remember, for that ignition to happen, you really need to be in an oxygen-rich spot.

If you're struggling to get those Scavs to catch fire, here’s a pro-tip: try shooting them inside a building with oxygen, or even near one of those oxygen dispensers. If they're almost dead but not burning, finish them off with a different weapon. If you find yourself running out of Scavs to test your new toy on across the three locations, don't sweat it. Just save and quit, then reload your game – they should respawn. Once you've hit your quota of 15 kills and 5 ignitions, head back to Janey in Concordia to wrap this mission up.
