Need help with the 'No Such Thing as a Free Launch' side mission in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel? Follow our guide to find the flow regulator, flight recorder, and gyroscope for Cosmo.
Alright, so you've just finished up 'Intelligences of an Artificial Persuasion' and Cosmo's got a new gig for you. This one's called 'No Such Thing as a Free Launch,' and it's available in Triton Flats. You'll be looking for a few rocket parts, and the mission is set for level 12. If you get it done, you're looking at about 1584 XP, 78 bucks, and a sweet rocket launcher.
- 1First up, Cosmo needs a flow regulator. He'll tell you it's in Outlands Spur. Fast travel there and make your way to the waypoint he's marked on your map. Expect some Scavs to be in your way, so clear them out and then snag the regulator.
- 2Next, you're off to the Drakensburg to find a flight recorder. This one's a bit of a social call – it's held by a guy named Tony Slows. When you get to his spot, you'll have the option to give him $10 to go on a little tour with him. It's not too long, and he'll show you the recorder. You can either finish his tour or just grab the recorder when he shows it off. Fair warning, he'll get pretty ticked off and turn into an enemy, but he won't actually attack you. Feel free to put him down, though.
- 3With the flight recorder in hand, it's time to hunt down a gyroscope. This part takes you back to Triton Flats. Fast travel there and head to the waypoint. You'll need to clear out some enemies, and then you'll see a building on your left as you enter the area. Head inside that building.
- 4Once you're in, you'll need to use a console to lower some glass. After that, just grab the gyroscope.
- 5Now you've got all three items: the flow regulator, the flight recorder, and the gyroscope. Head back to Cosmo and hand them over. He'll tell you there's just one last thing to do.
- 6Apparently, some Energized Shugguraths are causing trouble. Head outside through the nearby exit. You'll find one of these Shugguraths waiting for you – take it down.
- 7Once that's done, go back inside to Cosmo. Watch him work his magic, and that'll wrap up the mission!
- Don't stress too much about Tony Slows; he's more of a nuisance than a real threat after he turns hostile.
- Keep an eye on your ammo when fighting the Scavs and Shugguraths, but they're generally not too tough at level 12.
- 1584 XP
- 78 dollars
- Rocket launcher
