Neutralize KPA tanks and navigate enemy patrols in Crysis Part 9. Learn stealth and combat strategies to reach the rendezvous point.
Walkthrough
- 1Exit the room where Psycho is handling a hostage and proceed up the stairs to the roof.
- 2Eliminate any KPA soldiers on the rooftop.
- 3Locate the first KPA tank and destroy it using all three missiles from your missile launcher.
- 4Pick up the missile launcher from the ammo crate on the rooftop.
- 5Watch for KPA soldiers ascending the stairwell and secure it before engaging the second tank.
- 6Destroy the second KPA tank.
- 7Exit the compound and head south past the storage sheds.
- 8Jump over the block wall and proceed southeast up the steep grade towards Prophet's rendezvous point.
- 9Locate the rock ledges to the right of the waterfall.
- 10Jump to the first ledge and collect the SCAR assault rifle and ammo clips from the munitions crates.
- 11Jump up the remaining ledges and head west onto the dirt path on the high ground above the river.
- 12Move down the path overlooking the river canyon, cloaking to scout ahead.
- 13Ambush the four-man KPA foot patrol by hiding in the nearby foliage and sniping them with the silenced SCAR. Be aware that additional KPA may appear from behind you.
- 14When Prophet changes the rendezvous point due to heavy KPA activity, approach the firefight ahead.
- 15Ambush the four survivors while they are distracted by the battle, sniping from the safety of nearby foliage. Note the pockets of frost on the ground near a civilian victim.
Alternate Stealth Approach:
- After ambushing the four KPA and passing Bedowski’s remains, Prophet will advise of KPA ahead (approximately ten).
- Instead of fighting, cloak and move east into the river, crossing to the far side. Ensure you do not trigger an alert.
- Hide behind boulders to recharge while the KPA pass on the hillside. Be aware of a KPA sniper on a ledge ahead, but he cannot see you over the escarpment brow.
- Continue southeast in the river, recharging behind boulders or in vegetation.
- When Prophet spots hostiles on your side of the river, stop under cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects) and use your binoculars to check the opposite hillside for KPA patrols.
- Move forward around the rocks jutting into the river and recharge in the small niche with the tall clump of grass.
- Scout the hillside across the river again. Dart the lagging KPA soldier near a tree.
- Recharge and power-jump the ledges near your hiding spot to reach the ledge above.
- Remaining undiscovered is vital. Use a tranquilizer dart on the nearby sniper and finish him off before he revives.
- If no alert is triggered, move forward into the foliage and dart the KPA soldier near the mountainside, but do not finish him off.
- Move very slowly along the mountainside, past two groups of KPA (two ahead, then three farther on). You can sneak past them by moving slowly and knowing their positions, recharging out of their sightlines.
Direct Assault Alternative:
- After eliminating the sniper, move forward on the rock shelf.
- Take out a few KPA with the silenced SCAR until an alert is sounded.
- Move back to the rock shelf, grab the Precision Rifle, and kill KPA as they advance. The narrow ledge serves as a chokepoint.
- Use cover and cloaking tactics, and a shotgun for close encounters.
- Once all hostiles are down, replace the Precision Rifle with your SCAR and head for the waypoint (a marker on your map you've manually placed as a destination) to meet Prophet.
Continuing On:
- As you proceed, a transmission will warn of a large KPA patrol ahead.
- Cloak and stay near the mountainside, recharging in low foliage when needed. Avoid sounding an alert.
- Jump down the ledge and recharge in the crevice beyond it.
- Power-jump out of the crevice and take shelter in the low foliage under the tree on the low rock shelf.
- From this position, snipe the large patrol in the low area without moving from your spot. Staying crouched may negate the need for cloaking unless a soldier searches your direction.
- Once the area is clear, jump onto the low rock shelf. Prophet will warn of hostiles on the other side of the river.
Tips
- It can be difficult to get a clear shot at the second tank. If you must leave the rooftop, keep the shotgun and the SCAR. Another SCAR will be available after the mission if yours is low on ammo.
- The Precision Rifle on the roof is effective but has only ten rounds; leave it unless you need to replace your SCAR.
- A missile launcher is located in the center room on the ground level, along with various grenades.
- Additional missile launchers can be found in the nearby Town Hall, but you will need to fight numerous KPA to restock there.
- Additional intelligence can be gathered in the second-story office of the Town Hall, though this is not part of the mission.
- If using stealth, be aware of a KPA sniper ahead on a ledge who cannot see you over the brow of the escarpment.
- When using stealth and Prophet spots hostiles on the other side of the river, use binoculars to confirm the opposite hillside is clear before proceeding.
- Darting the lagging KPA soldier near a tree is recommended during the stealth approach.
- When moving slowly along the mountainside during the stealth approach, know the positions of the KPA groups to avoid detection.
- If engaging in direct assault, the narrow ledge provides a good chokepoint against the KPA.
- When sniping the large patrol, remaining crouched may be sufficient without cloaking unless a soldier investigates your position.
