Dead or Alive 6 (DOA6) is the sixth main installment in the Dead or Alive fighting game series. Announced on June 8th, 2018, and released on March 1st, 2019, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, it also saw an arcade release in Japan on July 18, 2019. The game runs on a new engine, introducing visible damage on fighters and new mechanics such as the Fatal Rush and Break Gauge. Sweat effects from Dead or Alive 5 return and are more pronounced. A new version, Dead or Alive 6 Last Round, was announced on February 12th, 2026.

The plot summary details the story beginning with Kasumi, a successor of the Mugen Tenshin ninja clan, who abandons her clan to live as a "runaway ninja" in a mountain village. Meanwhile, Helena Douglas, president of DOATEC, is involved in an incident concerning an individual with special powers, and another "genius" is intrigued by a mysterious light. A sinister plan is set in motion, disrupting the current peace. Kasumi writes to her mother, Ayame, with hesitation, indicating the story is ongoing.

The game features a roster of returning characters including Kasumi, Hayate, Ayane, Ryu Hayabusa, Helena Douglas, Tina Armstrong, and many others. New characters introduced are Diego and NiCO, with Tamaki also appearing as a fighter (DLC). Guest characters Mai Shiranui and Kula Diamond are also available as DLC.

Gameplay mechanics have been updated. The Power Blow and Power Launcher from the previous game are removed. A new Break Gauge is introduced, located under the life bar, which starts half-full in the first round. This gauge can be used in conjunction with the Special button (or Hold + Special) for various effects.
