Mission 5: Pseudo-Fight: Before the Countdown Ends
This section can be used for Weapon Upgrade Challenges or Rune Challenges, while conserving your 200/200 ammo by persevering and using the Invulnerability Powerup. It's also an opportunity to earn Combat Challenge progress by fighting aggressively.
Mission 6: Kadingir Sanctum "Into the Fire"
Notes on Combat Challenges:
- Dead Man Stalking: Be aware these enemies can be easy to miss.
- Momentum Swing: This challenge is fairly easy if you use all the powerups, but avoid saving them for too long.
- Sweep the Leg: These enemies have limited convenient locations, and the glory kill is difficult to execute. Do not miss any opportunities.
Mission 6: Fight: To get the Yellow Skull
This sequence of fights has no (checkpoint (an auto-save point you restart from on death))s and is gathered together.
- Drop down to a plateau with a toxic pond and 3 The Possesseds. You can find some armor here. Jump across to find Plasma Ammo and potentially a Gauss Cannon.
- Climb the stairs and kill 3 The Possesseds.
- After killing The Possesseds, look up and to your left for a rock ledge. Jump onto this ledge, then onto two more ledges to find a suit of armor. This is an opportunity to get SECRET 6.4.
- Venture out to begin the pre-fight; the main fight starts when you get near the left edge.
- Look down to the next lower platform to see an Imp spawn; kill it immediately with a grenade. A Revenant then spawns; use the rocket launcher or your preferred weapon.
- Stand on the ledge with the suit of armor. Look down into the Main Pit Area to see 2 Mancubi. Attack them carefully with the Rocket Launcher, preferably with the Lock-On (mod (a community-made modification that changes the game)).
- Quickly jump down into the Pit area to trigger two waves:
- A group of Imps and a Hell Razer, ending with a Hell Knight.
- A group of Imps and a few Hell Razers, ending with 2 Hell Knights.
Mission 6: Accessing and Using the Yellow Skull
- The game's (waypoint (a marker on your map you've manually placed as a destination)) will lead you to a switch, accessible only after all demons are killed.
- Activate the switch and walk across the pit to a newly opened area containing armor and the Yellow Skull.
- Find the Yellow Skull Door by walking up the path from where the last fight started.
- Open the door to find CODEX ENTRY "Artifacts / Slayer's Testament #1" and ELITE GUARD 6.1.
- Proceed to the next fight.
Mission 6: Fight: 2 Summoner Fight
This fight begins on a plateau overlooking another pit area with T-shaped bridges.
- If you enter without moving, you can kill 3 The Possessed.
- As you move toward the middle of the level, 3 Imps spawn.
- When you reach the edge of the plateau, the main group of demons spawns. A Summoner spawns on the center of the bridge; the Lock-On Rocket Launcher is effective for this, as suggested by the Weapon Upgrade challenge.
- Another Summoner spawns on the left side of the lower area.
- 2 Hell Knights spawn soon after, along with numerous Hell Razers.
Mission 6: Getting the Blue Skull
- Follow the game's marker to find a Chainsaw and Shotgun Ammo.
- Continue down a passage into the large cavern where the first fight began; a series of islands will appear.
- You can jump directly to the nearest island or make slightly easier jumps up the islands. If you want armor, this is your second chance to get SECRET 6.4: the suit of armor is visible from above. Climb the stairs and use ledges to jump to it.
- A Skull-Switch is at the top of the islands. Pressing it will lift a gate on the lower level.
- Jump down to the lower level and kill The Possesseds.
- The green mist will teleport you to the next area. Before teleporting, head right to pick up supplies and SECRET 6.1, COLLECTIBLE 6.1: "Revenant Model, Astroguy".
- Head through the teleporter.
- You will find a Blue Skull. Taking it opens a gate leading back to the overlook of the Main Pit Area.
Mission 6: Fight: Main Pit Area, part 2
- Before you can proceed, 4 Imps will spawn.
- Imps will begin spawning below; eliminate them with grenades or your preferred weapon.
- A few Cacodaemons will spawn. Two blasts from the Lock-On Rocket Launcher will kill them, or you can target their eye with the Assault Rifle or Gauss Cannon. Continue using grenades to kill Imps in the area to the right of the base of the long stairs.
- To trigger more demons, you must descend to the floor. Use the Quad (Powerup) as needed. If you have 2 Power Upgrades, your health will refresh at this point, making it beneficial to wait until you are damaged. A wave of Revenants and a Hell Knight will spawn, followed by another Cacodaemon, more Revenants, a Mancubus, and several Imps.
Mission 6: Rune Challenge and Using the Blue Skull
POINT OF NO RETURN: This Rune Challenge is only accessible for a short time. The protective gates close before you get the Blue Skull and after you pass through a holographic ritual in a corridor. (XXX: is the Rune accessible during the above Fight??)
- Accessing RUNE CHALLENGE 6.1 requires jumping onto the central rock that held the Quad Powerup.
- Jump onto the smaller upper island (there are two; jump toward the one closer to the Blue Door?).
- You should then see a man-made (or demon-made) ledge.
