Job Classes

Unlock and master Dragon Quest VII's Human and Monster job classes. Learn how leveling up and collecting Hearts opens up new abilities and strategies for your party.

Alright, so one of the coolest things about Dragon Quest VII is definitely the job class system. It's a huge part of what makes the game so long and engaging! You won't be able to mess around with it right away, but once you get through the Alltrades Abbey scenario, BAM! You'll have the freedom to switch your characters into all sorts of different jobs. Some are available from the get-go, but the real magic happens as you level them up. Keep battling, and you'll unlock more and more classes.

Every time your characters participate in battles, their current job class gains experience. Win enough battles, and that job class levels up, opening the door to new possibilities. It's a really satisfying progression system.

But wait, there's more! On top of all the awesome human job classes, you can also transform into MONSTER job classes. These work a bit differently, though. Instead of just leveling up, you'll need to find special 'Hearts' out in the world to unlock those transformations. Once you've got the right Heart, you can change into that monster class and start leveling that one up too!
