Complete Data Recovery Setup in GTA V

Alright, so you’ve finished up The On Course Mission and Franklin’s got a new gig for you back at the Agency. Turns out, Dr. Dre’s phone is locked down tighter than a drum with some serious firewalls. Your mission? Sneak into the FIB building, plug in a USB drive, and let Imani work her magic to see if that phone’s being tracked. Once the cutscene wraps up, head over to the computer and kick off the Setup: Data Recovery mission under VIP Contracts.

Walkthrough

You’ll start off in a Helicopter. Your first job is to fly it over to the FIB Building and land on the roof. The building will be clearly marked on your mini-map, so just follow that.

Once you’ve landed, make your way to the Skylight. This is your entry point into the building.

Inside, head to the back left corner of the room. You’ll find a door labeled ‘Communications Room’. It’s locked, so you’ll need to use a Sticky Bomb to blow it open.

Once inside the Communications Room, interact with the computer. Imani needs to install some software, but it’s not instant. You’ll need to get into cover and start taking out waves of FIB guards who will come for you. Keep them off Imani until the installation is complete.

With the installation done, head back into the Communications Room and grab the Hard Drive. Clear out any remaining guards.

Now, head to the door at the back of the Communications Room. This will take you back up to the rooftop.

Outside, you’ll have to deal with FIB Helicopters. You can take them out with a Rocket Launcher if you have one, or you can just shoot the pilots directly.

Once the skies are clear, hop back into your Helicopter and get ready to lose the cops. Fly around and use the city to break line of sight until they give up.

Finally, fly back to your Agency to wrap up this mission.

Tips

When you’re taking out the guards in the Communications Room, make sure you stay in cover. The FIB agents can be pretty accurate, and you don’t want to get taken out while Imani is still working.
Don’t forget to grab the Hard Drive after the installation is finished! It’s easy to get caught up in the firefight and forget the main objective.
Losing the cops can be the trickiest part. Use tunnels, alleyways, and tight turns to your advantage. If you can get off their radar completely, they’ll eventually stop searching.

Completing this mission will progress the Contract DLC storyline and unlock the next mission in the sequence.
