How to Beat Shadow Lord

Master the Shadow Lord fight in Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel by interrupting Dark Ritual and focusing on the true Shadow Lord during Shadow Clone.

The Shadow Lord is a master of dark magic and illusions, found in the Obsidian Citadel of the Shadowfen. This fight tests your ability to manage multiple targets and identify real threats.

Phases:

1. Phase 1 (100% - 60% Health): The Shadow Lord casts 'Shadow Bolt' (fast single target), 'Void Zone' (creates a lingering dark AoE), and 'Summon Shadow Wraiths' (2-3 Wraiths). He also has a 'Teleport' ability to reposition.
2. Phase 2 (60% - 0% Health): He gains 'Shadow Clone' (creates 2-3 illusory copies that deal reduced damage but mimic his attacks) and 'Dark Ritual' (channels a powerful AoE spell that must be interrupted). He also casts 'Soul Drain' (a channeled ability that heals him if not interrupted).

Weaknesses:

• Holy/Light Damage: Highly vulnerable to holy or light-based attacks (rare enchantments).
• Physical Damage: Moderate vulnerability, especially to high burst damage.

Strategy:

• Focus the Real Lord: When he uses 'Shadow Clone', the real Shadow Lord will often have a slightly different glow or a smaller health bar. Prioritize him to end the phase quickly.
• Interrupt Dark Ritual/Soul Drain: These channeled abilities are dangerous. Use stuns, heavy attacks, or high burst damage to interrupt them.
• Clear Shadow Wraiths: These minions can quickly add up. Use AoE to clear them, especially if they are distracting you from the Lord.
• Avoid Void Zones: These areas deal continuous damage. Keep moving and repositioning.
• Magical Resistance: Equip gear with magical or necrotic resistance if possible.
