Basic Gameplay

In Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel, you control a hero on a raid. The primary goal is to complete objectives, such as surviving environmental hazards or defeating specific enemies, within a time limit. Once objectives are met, you'll summon and battle a boss. The game features an overhead view where enemies continuously approach. As you defeat enemies, they drop XP crystals. Collecting these allows your hero to level up, presenting you with a choice of new skills offered by gods or from the hero's own potential skillset. By default, autocast skills and attacks are automated, leaving you to control the hero's movement, weapon skill, and dashes. Passive skills offer various bonuses or have a chance to trigger under specific conditions, like when the hero takes damage.

Controls

Here are the default controls for the game:

* The attack mode is set to Smart by default. The attack button is only needed when attack mode is set to Manual.
† Aiming is set to automatic by default. Aiming controls are only used in manual aiming mode.

Tips and Tricks

• Earn gold and soulstones during raids to purchase new weapons or activate virtues from the main menu. Virtues offer various bonuses and beneficial effects. Virtues from gods affect all heroes, while hero-specific virtues only benefit that particular hero.
• At the end of each raid, an information screen displays the DPS of attacks and autocast skills. Focus on acquiring three high DPS skills. For example, Thunderstorm and Sentinel, offered by Thor, are excellent due to their auto-targeting of multiple enemies, dealing full damage when triggered if enough enemies are present.
• Don't solely focus on high DPS. Autocast skills that clear enemies around the hero or temporarily halt their advance are also valuable. Freya's Divine Wave is a good example, with its circular waves providing a weak knockback effect that momentarily stops most enemies.
