Basic Gameplay

In Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel, you'll take a hero out on raids with the main goal of completing objectives, like surviving harsh conditions or defeating powerful lords and champions, all within a time limit. Once the objectives are met, you'll summon and then defeat the final boss. The game features an overhead view, with waves of enemies constantly attacking your hero. You start with a basic attack and a weapon skill. As you defeat enemies, they'll drop XP crystals. Collecting these allows your hero to level up, and at each level, you'll be offered a choice of a new skill, either from a god or from your hero's own potential skillset. By default, skills and attacks are autocast, meaning they happen automatically at regular intervals. Your main job is to control your hero's movement, weapon skill usage, and dashes. Passive skills offer various bonuses or have a chance to trigger under certain conditions, like when your hero takes damage.

Tips and Tricks

• During raids, you can earn gold and soulstones. Use these to buy new weapons for your heroes or activate virtues from the main menu. Virtues give you various bonuses and helpful effects. Remember, virtues offered by the gods affect all your heroes, while hero-specific virtues only benefit that particular hero.
• At the end of each raid, win or lose, you'll see an info screen showing the DPS of your attacks and autocast skills. It's a smart move to focus on getting three skills with high DPS. Skills like Thunderstorm and Sentinel, both from Thor, are great because they auto-target multiple enemies and deal full damage if enough enemies are in range.
• Don't just chase the highest DPS, though! Autocast skills that help clear enemies around you or briefly stop them from advancing are also super useful. For example, Freya's Divine Wave is excellent; its circular waves emanate from your hero and have a weak knockback effect that can halt most enemies for a moment.
