>As Infected<

In Versus mode, both teams will play as the Infected at some point. Unlike Left 4 Dead 1, there will never be any duplicate Special Infected on a team.

Lonely Survivors, incapacitated Survivors, and stragglers are excellent targets.

Prioritize the weaker Survivors first, as they are outlined in red on your (minimap (the small circular map in the bottom-left corner of your screen) - a small map usually in the corner of the screen showing your immediate surroundings and nearby allies/enemies).

Try working together with other Infected.

Lure Survivors to Alarm Cars (vehicles that trigger a loud alarm when disturbed) and Witches (powerful, rare Infected).

If Survivors enter an area they cannot easily retreat from (like through holes), attack the last Survivor to pass that point.

Try not to spawn too early, as noises can make Survivors jumpy.

Consider the worst times a Special Infected could appear when playing as a Survivor.

Special Infected cannot trigger Alarm Cars.

Smash any Doors to bits.

Survivors are defenceless when climbing ladders.

Never let a Survivor get their hands on a Defibrillator (an item that can revive a downed Survivor).
