Get to know the four unique playable Survivors in Left 4 Dead 2: Nick, Ellis, Rochelle, and Coach. Learn their backgrounds, preferences, and preferred weapons.

Alright, so you're diving into Left 4 Dead 2 and want to know who you'll be playing as? These four are your main crew, immune to the zombie plague and trying to make it through the chaos. Each of them has their own story, likes, dislikes, and even preferred weapons, which can be pretty handy to know.

Let's break 'em down:

• Nick — This guy's a gambler and a conman, usually found sporting a white suit. He's got a bit of a cynical streak and really dislikes people who can't shoot straight, along with a long list of other things like peanuts and sewers. His subtitle color is blue, and he tends to favor Submachine Guns and Assault Rifles. He was hoping for a casino trip but got stuck dealing with the Infection instead.
• Ellis — A cheerful mechanic with a baseball cap, Ellis is the optimistic one. He seems to think he's pretty much indestructible and enjoys the simple things, even fighting zombies. His subtitle color is white, and he's a fan of Hunting Rifles and Sniper Rifles. He's got a soft spot for horses, cars, and talking about his friend Keith. He's not a fan of Nick, though.
• Rochelle — A former news reporter from Cleveland, Rochelle is looking to get out of Savannah. She's got short black hair, wears a pink t-shirt, and her dialogue pops up in pink. She prefers Submachine Guns and Assault Rifles. She dislikes being in the spotlight and finds it annoying that people aren't interested in the news anymore.
• Coach — This former teacher, both in football and health, is bald and a bit chubby, wearing a purple shirt. His dialogue appears in purple. He's got a soft spot for chocolate and rabbits but really hates Witches and stairs. He's ready to fight the Infected to get back to his old life and might even revisit his hometown. He favors Pump Shotguns and Auto Shotguns.

You'll also occasionally run into the The Past Generation, who are the original Survivors from the first Left 4 Dead. They show up in The Passing and are playable in certain Left 4 Dead 2 campaigns. Their weapon preferences are a bit different this time around compared to the first game, with Bill and Zoey sticking to Assault Rifles, Louis preferring Auto Shotguns, and Francis going for Scoped Rifles.
