Your ultimate guide to Luxerion Cathedral on The Final Day in Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. Learn enemy weaknesses, strategies, and how to overcome the final challenges.

Alright, so we're at Luxerion Cathedral for the final stretch in Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. The good news? Time doesn't pass here, so no need to stress about the clock or use Chronostasis. The not-so-great news? You'll be facing some seriously beefed-up new enemies. Don't sweat it though, we'll get through this by learning their weaknesses.

First things first, you need to collect 5 Silver Malistones. Once you've got those, chat with Mog to warp over to the Cathedral.

Before we dive in, let's look at the tougher foes you'll encounter:

MonsterNotes
AnubysThese guys are much stronger now and love to show up in big groups. Try slowing them down first, then hit 'em with magic to stagger them.
Cathedral SentryThese are pretty weak compared to others. Area-of-effect spells like Blizzaga are great for taking out groups of them.
NeelaIce magic is their absolute kryptonite.
WendigoFire magic is their biggest weakness.
SugrivaThis one buffs its buddies (Neela and Wendigo). Inflict Imperil on it, then blast it with Firaga or Blizzaga, depending on who's with it.
SetPerfectly guarding its swipes will stagger it super fast. It attacks a lot like the Anubys.
ArcangeliThese can be a real pain if you're not ready. Use physical attacks for damage, and switch to elemental attacks when it's casting to stagger it. Equipping Faith Feeder and the Preta Hood will help protect you from its 'Wings of Judgement' attack.
ChimeraMake it weak to ice with Imperil, then hit it with Poison. Keep that Poison effect up and unleash a bunch of Overclocks. Using Jump/Beat Down can also stagger it quickly.

When you arrive at the Cathedral, you'll find four merchants. Stock up on restoration items – you'll definitely need them. Head up the ladder on the right side; there's a merchant there selling Adventuring Essentials, including Libra information on all these new enemies. Grab that! Don't worry too much about the Sorcery Shop right now, as you'll get another chance for recovery items and upgrades later.

As you make your way towards the Cathedral itself, you'll run into Anubys, and they're at their strongest. They often appear in pairs or trios. If you see three, honestly, you can probably just ignore them and focus on getting to the objective, as things can get hairy fast. When you reach the main entrance, approach the sentries for a cutscene, followed by a fight against some Cathedral Sentries.

These Sentries are super weak to elemental attacks like Fira and can be staggered really quickly. If they group up, use your area-of-effect spells to launch them all. They're mostly just an annoyance at this point, so take them out fast.

After that little skirmish, run into the Cathedral towards the blue marker. You'll encounter a boss that looks pretty tough. The Order has left a few nasty surprises, but thankfully, you've got help to break through!
