The Wildlands: An Introduction

Locations:

• Eremite Plains: Located in the far north, this area is a canyon-filled graveyard of old airships. A mysterious, insular man is said to live in one of the airships. The northeast part of this region contains a Research Camp where scientists analyze airship fragments and aspects of the Chaos. Powerful Chocobo Eaters prowl this area. Goblins, Ectopuddings, and Triffids can also be found here.
• Poltae and the Temple of the Goddess: Poltae is a village that does not follow the Order of Salvation, instead worshipping the Goddess Etro, with the Children of Etro being the most fanatical. A large Temple dedicated to the Goddess is nearby. This Temple flooded from Valhalla into the world when the Chaos broke free and remains stuck. Rumors suggest a dark and sinister nature has taken hold inside, with the heart of Chaos itself at the very top. Meonektons (exterior areas from 04:00 - 06:00), Ectopuddings, Hanuman, and Aster Protoflorians can be found in and around the Temple of the Goddess.
• Jagd Woods and Village: Situated in the west, these woods are a gathering place for hunters who live off the land, a contrast to the city of Luxerion. Man and nature coexist here, with many different monsters and plant life. It is said that a path to a Moogle Village can be found in the evening, though few have ever seen them. Niblets, Dryads, Rafflesias, and Triffids inhabit the Jagd Woods.
• The Grasslands: This region in the south is home to sheep farmers and herders who breed sheep for their milk, which is said to have special healing properties. In the central Grasslands is Canopus Farm, home to a specialist Chocobo vet who believes a white Chocobo is the Angel of Valhalla. Aryas Village is in the far south, famous for its Fuzzy Sheep and excellent food prepared by Chef Aryas using generational recipes. Niblets, Gremlins, Miniflans, Reavers, and Triffids can be found in the Grasslands.
