From the start, roll under the statue to the left wall and use bombs to enter a new area. Freeze the beetle above you, then jump on it to use as a platform. Jump the wall on your left and go through the door.

Ignore the shaft for now. Jump carefully across the acid and use the save room on your left.

Return to the previous room. Jump up the platforms, freeze the beetle above, and jump on it. Wait for the second beetle above to get close, freeze it, and quickly jump to it. Freeze the third beetle, jump to it, and then jump to the door on your right. Enter the next room.

Walk to the end of the ledge, crouch, and fire rapidly to freeze the leaping enemy. Jump from the frozen enemy over the wall. Freeze another leaping enemy and jump from it to the statue. Roll into a ball in the statue's hands to restore health and energy and get a clue.

Jump over the statue and head right. Freeze three leaping enemies one by one, using them as platforms to get through the door ahead.

Drop to the ground, run to the wall on your right, aim up, and freeze a beetle touching the wall. Freeze another beetle halfway between the first frozen one and the narrow platform. Jump to the platform and quickly use the frozen beetles to get over the wall.

Drop right and walk to the right wall. Freeze the beetle above you when it's touching the right wall. Shoot through the wall and freeze the lower beetle when it's close to the one above. Jump from the lower beetle to the higher one. If the higher beetle starts to thaw, shoot it down. Roll into a ball and set bombs against the wall to find a missile tank. Drop to the ground and go through the door on your right.

Shoot the enemy and avoid the beetle as you go right. Fall through the ground, then carefully drop to the bottom of the shaft. Head left through the large 6x2 room to reach the save room.

Head left to the shaft. Freeze the pair of beetles above and use them as platforms to reach the elevator. Ride the elevator up to Brinstar.
