Uncharted Territory

First things first, head left from where you are to the closest shaft. Climb all the way up until you find a save room. Good place to rest up.

Now, return to that shaft and climb just a little higher. You'll see a door on your left. Go through it into another shaft. This one requires a bit more careful navigation. Work your way down slowly until you encounter a beetle enemy. Freeze it with your beam, then use it as a platform to jump into an alcove on your left. Once inside, plant a bomb and drop down, rolling left into a hidden room.

In this new area, you'll face some spiky enemies and bats. Keep heading left and drop through the floor. Be ready to use bombs on the parasites that appear; they can drain your health fast if you let them. Roll right, taking out any other enemies you find, and grab the missile tank tucked away on your left. Keep rolling right and drop all the way down to the bottom of this area. From there, roll right to get back to the main shaft.

Carefully descend to the very bottom of the shaft. There's a save room on your right – use it! Then, enter the room to the left of the shaft.

Inside this room, roll left. You'll see a statue that can restore your health and missiles if you're running low. Use it if you need to. Now, roll left again, this time under a low wall. You'll encounter a few bats; shoot them down. After that, walk back right to the wall you just rolled under. Look up at the ceiling, about 3-4 blocks away from that wall, and shoot it to reveal an energy tank.

You *can* grab this energy tank right now using a bomb jump, or you can wait until you get the Hi-Jump Boots later. The choice is yours, but I really recommend snagging it now with the bomb jump if you can. Either way, continue left to the end of the room and go through the door.

In this next room, bomb the floor directly below you. Carefully make your way down the shaft to the bottom. Once you reach the bottom, go through the door on your right and take the elevator down.
