Complete Part II of the Observation walkthrough. Learn how to perform a systems diagnostic, find barcodes, combine data points, and fix hatch clamps for your first spacewalk.

After the previous events, you'll need to perform a systems diagnostic on Emma. Click on any module and trigger-click on the Hull Contacts, regardless of their status. Progress is made by interacting with either module UN-01 or EAS-03. Once Emma has enough information, she will inform you that you need to venture outside the station and will mention barcodes in EAS-11 "Soteria". These "barcodes" are actually yellow, orange, and red pieces of paper with boxes on them. Your sphere starts in EAS-09 "Spheres", with EAS-11 located nearby.

If the two space suits are oriented correctly, the barcodes are located just past the right-hand suit. To the right of the yellow barcode on top is a document detailing their functions ([Data Point 51]). The barcodes themselves are [Data Point 49], [Data Point 53], and [Data Point 58].

This section introduces the mechanic of linking data points. After scanning all three barcodes, [Data Point 72] will begin blinking. Select it with the A button and press X to "Combine Data". Data points needed for this are shown in blue, and unnecessary ones in red. Select the three blue data points (49, 53, and 58) by pressing X on each to create the new data point and install the firmware SAM requires for its first spacewalk. This combine data mechanic will be used periodically when all data points related to a specific topic, often a crew member, have been collected.

Proceed past the barcodes to reach the airlock. If the space suits are oriented correctly, the airlock controls will be on your left. Hold A to connect, then perform the following actions in order: close the internal hatch, depress the airlock, and then open the external hatch. Press B to exit the controls.

Emma will mention hatch clamp controls outside EAS-03 and also requests a look at EAS-12, the module jettisoned at the start of the game. If EAS-12 was not jettisoned in time, this section will not occur. Fly towards EAS-12, located at the end of the EAS arm, amidst debris. It can be found by turning around after exiting EAS-11. Enter through the broken end and move towards the front to find a laptop containing [Data Point 15] and an achievement.

To repair the clamps, follow the EAS arm towards the central ring. Look for a small box with a bright blue light on a module with a solar panel, located in a rectangular cluster of modules, diagonally opposite the marking "EAS 3".

Upon reaching the box, you will find that clamps 2, 4, and 8 are disengaged. The controls are precise and timing-sensitive. Click on one of the disengaged clamp numbers, then click "Start Clamp Reset". Hold the A button, and when the ring finishes moving, immediately hold down the Y button while still holding A. After the servo stops moving, release Y, and then release A when the ring is back in place. Repeat this process for the other two clamps. If you are too slow, you may need to restart the sequence.

Once the clamps are fixed, Emma will want to examine damage to the station's exterior. Recall the solar panels observed on the side of the EAS arm when looking at cameras after jettisoning EAS-12.

Tips for Station Navigation: The main body of the station can be visualized as a hexagonal base with three arms extending upwards: EAS, RUS (Russia), and CN (China). The CN arm is the shortest, consisting of only three modules. The main body is designated UN (Universal). Module names are marked externally with letters and numbers (e.g., CN 3, EAS 7, RUS 2). Generally, lower numbered modules for EAS, CN, and RUS are closer to the UN section, while higher numbers are further away.
