| Grail quest

Talk to King Arthur in Camelot Castle (north of Catherby) about Merlin being trapped in a crystal.

Speak with Sir Gawain to learn about how Merlin was trapped and about the Sorceress.

Consult Sir Lancelot regarding entry into Morgan Le Fay's stronghold. He will mention a boat; head west of the fishing areas.

Go to Arhein's and talk to Arhein to stow away on the ship. You will arrive where Renegade Knights (level 51) are present.

Ascend the stairs. You can fight the Renegade Knights or run. At the top, you will encounter 2-3 Sir Mordreds near strange symbols. Attack one until it is nearly dead, which will cause the sorceress to appear.

When the sorceress appears, agree to stop if she reveals how to free Merlin. She will mention a black candle, magic words, and Excalibur.

Proceed to the second story of the stronghold. Use the ladder on the west side to descend and exit the fortress.

Outside, you may find bats or bat bones. Attack a bat or collect bat bones, then head to the bank to deposit them.

Go south to the docks where you boarded the ship and retrieve a bucket from a crate.

Head north of the bank, enter a room, and take the insect repellent from a table.

Go to the beehives west of the room. Use the insect repellent on the beehives. Once the bees leave, use the bucket on a hive to collect wax.

Visit the candle maker in the shop next to the bank. Ask about black candles and give him the bucket of wax. He will provide you with a black candlestick. Bank this item.

Travel to Taverley and proceed south to the lake. Go to the middle of the lake on the peninsula and speak with the Lady of the Lake. She will discuss Excalibur and direct you to the Jewellery shop in Port Sarim.

Before going to Port Sarim, acquire some bread. Then, go to the Jewellery shop. A beggar will ask for bread; give it to him. The beggar will transform into the Lady of the Lake and bestow upon you the magical sword, Excalibur.

Head north to Varrock, then continue north into the Wilderness. Take only 3 items with you (though few are strictly necessary). Locate an altar around level 10-12 Wilderness, surrounded by lava, with its entrance on the north side. Search the altar to find an inscription.

Return to Camelot. Bring your black candle, bat bones, and Excalibur. If your black candle is not lit, light it with a tinderbox (purchasable from a general store for 1 coin).

Go to the area northeast of Camelot Castle, under a white overhang, and drop your bat bones on the strange symbol. A demon will appear. Recite the magic words found on the altar: "Snarthon Candtrick Termanto".

Proceed to the east wing of Camelot Castle with your Excalibur. Ascend the ladder, move to the east side, and climb the next ladder. Strike Merlin with Excalibur to break the crystal.

Speak with King Arthur to receive your reward.
