    Talk to Lucien in the Ardougne bar (west of the river). He asks you to retrieve the Staff of Armadyl and gives you the Pendant of Lucien.

    Light your candle (use tinderbox on candle). Prepare your inventory: Pendant of Lucien, good armor and weapon, Yew or Magic bow, lit candle, plenty of food, and 20 limpwurt roots (can be obtained later).

    Wear the pendant and enter the dungeon of fear (northeast of Ardougne). Go north through the door, then down the west stairs.

    If you cannot see, ensure your candle is lit. Cut the spider's web, retrieve the boots, and equip the 'boots of lightfootedness'.

    Go back up the stairs and through the north door. Cross the west bridge, open the door, and take the lever.

    Return through the door, cross the bridge, head north to the split, and go north again to find another lever.

    Search the lever for traps and disarm it. Pull the lever.

    Return to the dungeon entrance ladder but do not go up. Enter the west room, guarded by ice spiders (level 64).

    Collect the ice arrows one by one. Each collection teleports you back to the start. Alternatively, collect one and use another arrow type (not bronze) to kill the ice spider.

    Head north, through the door past skeletons (level 54), and go west. Use the lever with the lever bracket and pull it.

    Go through the adjacent door and equip your bow. Ranged attack 'The Fire Warrior of Lesarkus' (level 63).

    After defeating the Fire Warrior, go through the door next to its cage.

    Proceed through the alleyway and talk to Winelda. To cross the lava, pay her 20 limpwurt roots. If you don't have them, return to a bank and get them.

    After paying, Winelda will teleport you across the lava.

    Head north, then east, then south. Find and pick up the 'shiny key' near the lesser demons.

    Go north to the middle of the east-west passage and push the 'Strange-looking Wall'.

    Decision Point: Choose to side with Lucien or the Guardians of Armadyl.

    Side with the Guardians:
    • Take off the Pendant of Lucien.

    Talk to a Guardian of Armadyl, inform them about Lucien, and they will give you a pendant and task you to kill him.

    Exit the room, go west to the ladder, and go up.
