Learn how to defeat and snag the Shadow Makuhita in Pokémon Colosseum. Includes strategies for Espeon and Umbreon, and details on the Infinite Poké Ball Glitch.

Stats / Weaknesses:

  • Makuhita (Shadow) - LV30, Fighting type. Weak to Espeon's Confusion (initially), but avoid using it once Makuhita appears. Umbreon's Bite is effective for lowering HP.

Phases:

  1. Defeat Spinarak using Espeon's Confusion.
  2. Defeat Duskull with Umbreon's Bite (1-2 hits).
  3. Trudly sends out Shadow Makuhita. Rui notes a black and purple aura around it.

Strategy:

  • Do NOT attack Shadow Makuhita with Espeon's Confusion.
  • Use a Great Ball to attempt to catch Makuhita.
  • Use Umbreon's Bite to lower Makuhita's HP to red (around 20%) before attempting to catch it.

Infinite Poké Ball Glitch:

  • This glitch allows infinite use of Poké Balls.
  • Requirements: At least 2 different types of Poké Balls.
  • Execution: On your 1st Pokémon's turn, select a Poké Ball. On the 2nd Pokémon's turn, swap the chosen Poké Ball's location in the bag with another Poké Ball using the 'Y' button. The thrown ball will not be consumed.
  • This glitch is particularly fun with the Master Ball.
  • Credit: Bulbapedia.

After the Battle:

  • Exit the Mayor's House.
  • Heal and save your game at the Pokémon Center.
  • Prepare to battle one of three men in colored uniforms (Verde - Shadow Bayleef, Rosso - Shadow Quilava, Bluno - Shadow Croconaw). You can only catch one now; the others will be available later.
