Alright, you've dealt with Team Rocket and now it's time to head to the Mahogany Town Gym. Make sure to heal up your Pokémon at the Pokémon Center first. This Gym is all about ice puzzles, so get ready to slide around!

A Small Note - TM36 (Sludge Bomb)
Before you dive into the gym, remember Route 43 north of Mahogany Town? You know, where those Team Rocket Grunts were? Now that they're gone, you can go back. There's an NPC there who can give you TM36 (Sludge Bomb), which is a pretty solid Poison-type move.

Mahogany Town Gym - The Ice Puzzle
This Gym is a classic ice puzzle. When you step on an ice tile, you'll slide in that direction until you hit something – a wall, another trainer, or a non-ice tile. You can tackle this Gym in two ways: a quick route fighting only two trainers, or the full route battling everyone. Both get you to the Gym Leader, so it's up to you if you want that extra experience!

Quick Solution:
Head to the southwest corner and slide across the ice to the first trainer. After you beat them, slide north until you stop. Then, slide north again. Once you stop, go east, then south, then west, and finally north for another trainer battle. After that, slide east one last time to face the Gym Leader.

Full Solution:
Start near the entrance, between the two statues. Slide north along the ice on the east side of the next statue. You'll encounter a trainer. After the battle, slide back south. Take one step east, then slide north to battle the next trainer across the ice. After that fight, slide south again. Now, head to the southeast corner of the gym to battle another trainer, then go to the southwest corner for the last trainer before the leader. From here, the path is the same as the quick solution: slide east to face the Gym Leader, Pryce.

Leader Pryce's Pokémon Party

Trainer NameMoneyPokémon Party
Leader Pryce$3100Seel Lv. 27, Dewgong Lv. 29, Piloswine Lv. 31

Battle Strategy:
Pryce's team is a mix of Water and Ice types. His Seel and Dewgong hit hard with moves like Icy Wind (which can lower your Speed) and Aurora Beam. Dewgong is especially dangerous. His ace, Piloswine, is a powerful Ice/Ground type with Blizzard. Don't use Grass-type Pokémon here; they'll take heavy damage from Ice-type moves. Electric-types are a great choice, especially if you have one that's also Steel-type like Magneton, as they can deal super-effective damage and resist Pryce's attacks. If you picked Typhlosion, the Thunderpunch TM you can buy in Goldenrod City is also a good option. Rock or Fighting types can also work against Dewgong in a pinch, and even Fire-types do neutral damage against Water-types.
