Walkthrough
- 1After beating Jasmine, Fly to Ecruteak City, heal your Pokémon, and head east to Route 42.
- 2Go northeast on Route 42 to find a cave entrance leading to Mt. Mortar. Pick up the Ultra Ball nearby.
- 3Surf east on Route 42. Examine the southwest tile of a rock in the water to find a Max Potion.
- 4Land east of the Max Potion location. South of there, use Cut on a tree to access a dead-end containing Pnk Apricorn, Grn Apricorn, and Ylw Apricorn trees.
- 5Northeast of the Cut tree is another Mt. Mortar entrance. Further east is a Super Potion.
- 6Surf east again and land. Head east towards Mahogany Town, encountering three Trainers and another Mt. Mortar entrance.
- 7Mt. Mortar - West Entrance: Use Flash. Go north, up stairs, through an archway. Go north and west to find a ladder to a new area.
- 8In the new area, go southeast to find an Ether.
- 9Return to the previous area. Go northeast from where you entered. Push the Strength boulder east twice, then go north, northwest, and follow the path.
- 10At a fork, go northwest, then west, and hop down ledges to find a Hyper Potion. Go south and over a ledge.
- 11Return to the fork. Go north to the end, then south down ledges, collecting an Escape Rope.
- 12Continue south down ledges to the southeastern portion of the area. Southeast of the Strength boulder is another entranceway. Use the ladder on the nearby ledge and go up.
- 13Southeast of the ladder, find a Guard Spec.
- 14Return down and use the entranceway mentioned in step 12.
- 15Mt. Mortar - East Entrance: Go west and examine a rock to find a Hyper Potion. Go southeast to exit.
- 16Mt. Mortar - Central Entrance: Go up the ledge near the entrance and use the ladder.
- 17Beyond the ladder, go east and downstairs. Surf north and land to find a Hyper Potion.
- 18Resume Surfing east when possible, then north and west along the wall. Land in the northwestern bit (pointless for now).
- 19Continue south in the water until you can land on the southwestern portion. Go west and north, then Surf across a pond to find a Full Heal.
- 20Backtrack outside or use an Escape Rope or Dig.

- Recommended levels for this area are 35+.
- Mt. Mortar is optional, and some areas require HM Surf and Waterfall to access fully.
