Walkthrough:

1-Man-Squad, also known as Solo vs Squad or 1v4, is a game mode where you enter a Squad match by yourself. This means you'll be facing teams of four players with no teammates to assist you. Unlike in regular squad play, you typically die instantly rather than being knocked down first. Your opponents, however, will be knocked down before being eliminated, and they will likely communicate and support each other.

This mode is exceptionally challenging and punishing, but it's played because it can make players significantly better at most aspects of the game, particularly individual skill and decision-making, as the comms aspect is less relevant for a solo player. It also appeals to players seeking a greater challenge.

While difficult, 1-Man-Squad is not technically impossible. Many teams you encounter will be random squads with poor coordination, especially in Normal and Ranked matches. This mode is a unique feature of PUBG: Battlegrounds and Battle Royale games in general, as it's rarely found or viable in other genres like FPS (e.g., CS:GO) or MOBAs (e.g., Dota 2, LoL). In those games, facing a solo player might be seen as a matchmaking error or not taken seriously, potentially leading to players leaving. In PUBG, a few solo players can go largely unnoticed within the larger lobby of squads, making the experience distinct.
