Hey there! So you're checking out Karakin, huh? It's a pretty unique spot in BATTLEGROUNDS, a 2x2km island off the coast of North Africa. Think of it as a mix between the wide-open tension of Miramar and the fast pace of Sanhok. It's small, it's dangerous, and it's definitely exciting. One of the coolest things about Karakin is the Black Zone. Unlike other maps, the layout here can actually change each match, which keeps things fresh. Designing this map had some real technical challenges for PUBG Corp, especially with all the destructible buildings and those special breach walls. They had to create new art for demolished buildings and figure out how to make walls look realistic but still clearly show you can shoot through them. Keep an eye out for those drywall-looking walls – they're your cue that bullet penetration is a thing there. It's a neat way to hear enemies you might not otherwise and get some sneaky peeks. You'll also find Smuggler tunnels on Karakin. These are awesome for moving around stealthily or getting through tough mountain areas without being exposed. Just remember, not all bunkers lead to tunnels, and not all tunnels connect. You'll need a Sticky Bomb to blast through some of those walls to get into them. This map only supports 64 players, so expect more frequent engagements. It's all about medium-range fights and some intense Close Quarters Combat (CQC). Key Locations to Remember: * Cities: Al Habar, Bahr Sahir, Bashara, Hadiqa Nemo * Minor Cities: Al Hayik * Major Landmarks: Cargo ship Quick Update Notes: * Update #60 (Season 15 - Update 15.2): Mini-map curves and bridge displays were improved. * Update #50 (Season 10 - Update 10.3): Karakin received lighting improvements for a better atmosphere. * Update #38 (Season 6 - Update 6.2): The G36C and MP5K were added. Spawn rates for First Aid Kits and boosts were increased, while bandages, DMRs, SRs, and the Win94 saw decreased spawn rates. Care package airplane speed was increased, and Blue Zone effects were updated. * Update #38 (Season 6 - Update 6.1): 2x, 3x, and 4x scopes were increased. Healing/boost items above ground were also increased. The spawn rates for SR/DMR muzzle attachments were modified, while melee weapons, canted sights, and magazines were decreased. The Sawed-off was removed. A Little Background: Karakin is located off the coast of Northern Africa and has a desert theme with dirt and sea terrain.
