Udun Collectibles Overview

In Udun, you'll primarily be hunting for two types of collectibles: Artifacts and Ithildin Fragments. Artifacts are scattered throughout the landscape and often provide lore snippets about Middle-earth's history. Ithildin Fragments, on the other hand, are crucial for unlocking new abilities and are often found in more challenging or hidden locations. Collecting all of these will not only grant you achievements but also deepen your understanding of the world and empower Talion.

Artifact Locations

Udun's Artifacts are generally found in visually distinct areas, often near points of interest or within ruins. Keep an eye out for glowing orbs of light, which indicate an interactive collectible. Some common locations include:

• Ruined Camps: Orc encampments, even abandoned ones, often have artifacts lying around.
• Caves and Tunnels: Explore every nook and cranny of Udun's underground passages.
• Near Forge Towers: Many Forge Towers have artifacts in their vicinity, sometimes requiring a bit of climbing or exploration off the beaten path.
• Along the Black Road: The main thoroughfares and their immediate surroundings can hide these lore items.

As you progress through the main story and unlock more of the map, you'll naturally stumble upon many of these. However, for a thorough sweep, it's recommended to revisit areas after activating a Forge Tower, as they often reveal the general locations of nearby collectibles on your map.

Ithildin Fragment Locations

Ithildin Fragments are more strategically placed and are essential for your progression. They are often found in areas guarded by more powerful Uruks or in locations that require a bit more puzzle-solving or platforming to reach. Here are some general tips for finding them:

• High Vantage Points: Many Ithildin Fragments are located on rooftops, cliffs, or other elevated positions. Use your Wraith abilities to reach them.
• Inside Fortifications: Some fragments are hidden within the walls of Orc strongholds or watchtowers.
• Near Mission Objectives: Often, an Ithildin Fragment will be located near a main story mission objective, encouraging exploration of the surrounding area.
• Environmental Clues: Pay attention to the environment. Sometimes, a unique rock formation, a specific type of tree, or a broken structure can hint at a hidden collectible.

Once you've activated a Forge Tower, the map will reveal the general locations of any uncollected Ithildin Fragments in that area. This is invaluable for efficiently hunting them down. Remember to use your Wraith Vision (default key: Right Mouse Button/LT) frequently, as it highlights collectibles and other points of interest.

Strategy for Collection

The most effective way to collect everything in Udun is to combine exploration with your main objectives. As you travel between missions or to activate Forge Towers, make it a habit to scan your surroundings for collectibles. After activating a Forge Tower, take a moment to study the revealed collectible icons on your map and plan a route to gather them.

Don't be afraid to engage with the environment. Climbing, leaping, and using your wraith abilities are often necessary to reach some of the more elusive items. For Ithildin Fragments, in particular, be prepared for potential ambushes or tougher Uruk encounters, as they are often placed in more contested areas.
