Mastering Talion's traversal abilities in Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is key to survival and combat. Sprinting into walls allows you to climb over them, while sprinting at obstacles lets you vault. Approaching ledges with a sprint will either have you jump down or onto an adjacent platform. These fluid movements are essential for both evading enemies and setting up stealth attacks.

Talion's agility is crucial for navigating the treacherous landscapes of Mordor. By understanding how to use his climbing, running, and jumping mechanics, you can gain a significant advantage in combat and exploration.

• Climbing Walls: Sprint towards a wall to automatically climb over it. This is a quick way to gain verticality or escape immediate danger.
• Vaulting Obstacles: Sprinting at smaller obstacles, like crates or low walls, will cause Talion to vault over them, maintaining momentum.
• Ledge Interaction: Approaching a ledge with a sprint will result in either a controlled descent to the ground or a jump to a nearby ledge.
• Dropping from Ledges: While hanging onto a ledge, press Circle to drop down one level. Holding Circle will cause Talion to fall to the ground.
• Wraith Form on Fall: Worry not about fall damage; Talion automatically enters Wraith Form when falling, negating any harm from the descent.
• Aerial Takedowns: use ledges for stealthy assassinations. Drop down onto an unsuspecting Uruk from above to perform an Aerial Takedown, a powerful stealth finisher. Uruks rarely look up, making this a reliable tactic.
• Shimmying: While hanging from a ledge, you can press R2 + Square to shimmy sideways along it.
• Ledge Kills: If an Uruk gets close enough while you're hanging from a ledge, you can perform a Ledge Kill by pressing R2 + Square. This is another effective way to eliminate enemies from a safe vantage point.
• Attracting Foes: If an Uruk is too far away for a Ledge Kill, you can lure them closer. Press R2 + Triangle to blast them with wraith energy, spooking them and drawing them towards you. Once they are within range, you can dispatch them.
• Attracting on the Ground: This attraction ability isn't limited to ledges. You can also attract Uruks while on the ground. Furthermore, by entering Ranged Mode and pressing Triangle, you can direct Uruks to investigate specific areas, useful for setting traps or creating diversions.
