Needler

The Needler is a creature in Silent Hill: Homecoming characterized by its two large blade arms, which it uses for both climbing and attacking. These arms also serve as a shield, requiring players to strike during its attack animations or from its sides.

Weaknesses:

1. Head: The primary weak spot, though often protected by its arm blades.
2. Sides: The Needler cannot defend its sides effectively.

Attacks and Dodge Timings:

• Blade Slash: Quick side slash with the right arm. Dodge when the arm is raised.
• Side Slash: Quick slash to the side when Alex is positioned there. Dodge on sudden movement. This is its fastest attack.
• Knockdown Stab: Pokes forward with the left arm to knock Alex down. Dodge when the arm is raised.
• Double Blade Stab: Stabs both arms into the ground after Alex is knocked down. Mash the dodge button to roll away. The Needler is left vulnerable afterward.
• Ceiling Lunge: Climbs to the ceiling and lunges. Dodge as it lunges.
• Stabbing Grab: Grabs Alex with one arm and attempts to stab with the other. Mash the on-screen button prompt to escape; failure results in instant death.

Strategy:

• Melee Combat: Equip a melee weapon, dodge its attacks, and counter with strong or quick attacks. Alex can often perform a full combo from the side after a successful dodge. The Needler is particularly vulnerable after dodging its double-bladed stab. Charging a strong attack can also leave the Needler open, especially if it attempts a counter.
• Ranged Combat (Handgun): Shooting the Needler in the head is possible but risky. Wait until just before it attacks to shoot its head; otherwise, it will block the bullet. Alex is vulnerable while aiming. This method is generally not recommended.
• Instant Kill: A rare instant kill can be achieved by hitting the Needler's head with a melee weapon, though this relies heavily on luck.

Finishers (Dazed Stance):

• Combat Knife/Ceremonial Dagger: Alex stabs the Needler in the head and throws it down.
• Steel Pipe/Crowbar: Alex plunges the weapon through the Needler's back.
• Fire Axe/Pulaski Axe: Alex plants the axe blade through the top of the Needler's head.
