Part 13

Navigate Part 13 of the Sleeping Dogs story walkthrough. Learn about combat moves, health upgrades, mission structure, and tips for completing the main campaign.

This section covers the main story campaign missions in Sleeping Dogs. It elaborates on tricky parts and new gameplay features. Expect spoilers for key characters, locations, and events.

Tips: Use the pause menu to restart or quit missions. After a mission, a summary screen shows XP earned, rewards, and score. You can replay missions to improve scores and earn missed XP.

To acquire Cop XP more easily, use clothing sets that provide Triad XP buffs during story missions. Save Cop XP buff clothes for police cases and drug busts. See Section 09b for clothing set lists.

Mission rewards often include money, outfits, vehicles, safehouses, or intel. Intel can be read in the Reports section of your smartphone.

Tip: Use taxis for quick travel to distant mission waypoints, costing HK$310 per journey.

The story is linear with no branches or alternate endings. You may choose the order of two story missions at certain points, but you will complete both. To advance the story, you may need to sleep at a safehouse or complete the next police case lead.

Tip: Pause/unpause cut-scenes by pressing Start, or double-tap X to skip them.

View the map screen (Select or pause menu) or press L3 during play to see available missions/objectives.

The walkthrough highlights *some* collectible locations conveniently. Collectible types are in CAPS (e.g., LOCKBOX). Full lists are in Section 12, or wait until map markers are unlocked via dating side-missions.

The story has thirty missions, including two tutorials.

Mission #1 (Movement Tutorial)

• Follow Naz, holding X to run and tapping left/right to evade obstacles.
• Tap X to vault or climb an obstacle, then hold X to keep running.
• Press X just before an obstacle for smoother traversal.

Mission #2 (Melee Tutorial)

• Follow Jackie through alleys.
• Complete shown combos and finish off enemies.
• Learn grapple moves and defeat the second group.
• Perform an environmental kill by grabbing an enemy (Circle) and using the shutter (Circle again).
• Survive the initiation by pressing Triangle to counter when an enemy glows red.

Note: Countering allows blocking and attacking simultaneously, making it very useful.

VENDOR EXTORTION

Infiltrate the Sun On Yee triad to help enforce the Night Market.

• Follow Jackie into the Night Market for the protection racket.
• A damage buff can be bought from vending machines or promo girls.
• Collect tribute from the first vendor.
• A LOCKBOX is in the south-west area.
