Complete guide to Part 31 of Sleeping Dogs, covering drug busts in Kennedy Town and Aberdeen, plus details on street races like Induction and Water Street.
This section covers additional drug bust locations in Kennedy Town and Aberdeen, as well as details on street racing in Sleeping Dogs.
Drug Busts: Kennedy Town
- Kennedy Sewage Outlet: Located north of Kennedy Town. Enter from the water and look for a large tunnel west of the drug bust icon. The camera is in the far northern corner. A lockbox and speedboat are also found here.
Drug Busts: Aberdeen
- Chiang Mai Sewer Interchange: Found east of the cockfighting place. Follow the main tunnel left to find a pistol. After clearing the first wave of thugs, move to replenish ammo and face a second wave from the tunnel entrance. The camera control box is in the north-east corner of the main room. Another lockbox is also present.
- Aberdeen Sewage Outflow: Accessed via a tunnel south-west of the map icon on the far side of Aberdeen Island. Be prepared for a second wave of hostiles spawning behind you. The box is in the south-east corner. Another lockbox is also present.
- Yen Yen Foo Long Underpass: Located in south-east Aberdeen. This involves a small melee encounter with environmental kill opportunities. The control box is on the south-west face of a large concrete column, reached by following a long cable.
After these, there are eight more security cameras to find; see Section 12d for details.
Street Racing Overview
Street races are introduced during the Hotshot case, with 'Induction' and 'Water Street' being mandatory. Most other races unlock based on owning vehicles of the appropriate type and class. Races 'The Queen' and 'Summit' on Victoria Peak become available after completing Sandra's dating side-mission.
The Standard Edition has seventeen races, with 'Kamikaze', 'Harbor Run', and 'Enduro' available via the Street-Racer Pack DLC. The Definitive Edition includes these twenty races in total.
Winning races provides Face XP and prize money. Races are marked on the map with an orange waypoint icon and feature point-to-point routes. Upon entering a race, you select from eligible owned vehicles. Opponents may barge each other; avoid them for uninterrupted acceleration. Use directional rams to gain an advantage and check the minimap for turns. Avoid speed-losing contact.
Races disappear after being beaten but can be replayed from the Social Hub to improve times and leaderboard rankings, though replays only award $1,000.
Delaying races until later in the game, after completing favors and purchasing accessories for Face XP buffs, can be beneficial. Reaching Face Level 8 grants the Master Negotiator clothing (15% vehicle discount), and Face Level 10 grants the "Dai Lo" advantage (40% further discount), making expensive vehicles needed for top races more affordable.
Sleeping Dogs developers United Front Games have extensive experience in racing games, drawing from their work on ModNation Racers and LittleBigPlanet Karting, as well as staff from Black Box (Need For Speed). The street layouts are optimized for racing action.
Class C Car Races
- Induction: Starts in south-east North Point. This is a long route covering North Point, Central, and back to North Point. You win this race during the Hotshot case.
