Walkthrough

Immediately after grabbing the first rocket, while still in the air, go right and land on the platform with the spring. This will place you directly in front of checkpoint (an auto-save point you restart from on death) 1 (the first save point).

On the platform you reach right after letting go of the second rocket, look to your right and hit the springs. The top platform here contains checkpoint 2.

After passing checkpoint 4 and crossing the two bridges, jump down to your left. Landing on the platform below allows you to bypass running around the mountain.

Tips

These shortcuts are particularly useful for Mission B (Collect 50 Rings and Destroy the Capsule) and Mission C (Destroy the Capsule) on the Sky Deck stage.
Mastering these routes can save significant time during repeated playthroughs.
