Follow our complete walkthrough for The Firework Show side quest in Sunset Overdrive, including how to find Just Kim, destroy turrets, and defend the Overcharge barrel.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Speak with 4Kim at the Troop Bushido base to start the mission.
  2. 2
Go to the nearby apartment complex and speak with 4Kim again.
  3. 3
Follow her up the stairs and clear out the OD in the first courtyard.
  4. 4
Proceed to the objective marker, killing any scabs or OD.
  5. 5
    Interact with the indicated door.
  6. 6
Climb to the roof and examine the six doors. The correct door is by a tennis court in the southwest corner.
  7. 7
After interacting with the door, destroy all 8 Pop Rocket Turrets surrounding the area. Their locations are:
    • On the wall directly north of the examined door.
  8. 8
    Behind the examined door.
  9. 9
Down the stairs to the east of the tennis court, on the wall to the left.
  10. 10
Further along the wall from the previous location.
  11. 11
On the ground to the right of the area down the steps from the tennis court.
  12. 12
On the building east of the area at the base of the tennis court steps.
  13. 13
    Next to the previous turret.
  14. 14
On a raised roof area behind the previous two turrets.
  15. 15
Return to the door and interact with it for a cut-scene.
  16. 16
Enter the defense sequence. Kill 125 OD while protecting the Overcharge barrel.
  17. 17
Place Pop Rocket Traps strategically, especially near the three enemy entry points (behind the tennis court, the north ramp, and the east building roof).
  18. 18
Pick up the provided melee weapon at the door.
  19. 19
Stand by the barrel and use melee attacks and ground slams to defend it. Firearms are not allowed.
  20. 20
The first wave consists mainly of regular OD with a few Blowers.
  21. 21
At 30 kills, OD will briefly stop, and you can purchase more traps. Reinforce your defenses.
  22. 22
The second wave is more intense, including a Herker, more Blowers, Poppers, and regular OD.
  23. 23
Once 125 OD are killed, a cut-scene will play, ending the mission.
Tips
  • Use the Pop Rocket Traps to help thin out enemy numbers, especially before they reach the Overcharge barrel.
  • Focus on melee combat and ground slams to protect the barrel.
  • Prioritize eliminating special enemies like the Herker and Blowers during the defense phase.
  • $4,500
  • 8,000 x Overcharge
  • Unlock: Pop Rocket Trap
