To Cure a Case of Scabs

Need help with the 'To Cure a Case of Scabs' side-quest in Sunset Overdrive? Follow our walkthrough to defeat the Herker, loot its head, and fill the Scared Meter!

Alright, so you've picked up the 'To Cure a Case of Scabs' side-quest from a scout at the Troop Bushido base. First things first, let's head to that nearby objective marker.

You'll spot your target, a Herker, chilling on a roof. Time to get to work! Use those wires along the street to get up there and start wailing on him. Keep moving, dodge his projectiles, and try to avoid the swarm of regular ODs hanging around. Once you've taken him down, get close to his corpse and loot it. You're looking for the Ugly Herker Head item.

Got the quest item? Awesome. Now, make your way to the new objective marker down at the waterfront. Interact with the door there, and you'll trigger a short cutscene.

After that scene, you'll be sporting some new gear, and a 'Scared Meter' will pop up on the left side of your screen. Your next job is to take down some Scabs within the blue mission area along the waterfront. Be warned, most of these guys are gun-toting ranged attackers, and you'll also have a few Rushers and Tossers to deal with. The key here is constant movement to stay alive while you thin them out.

Once that 'Scared Meter' is looking pretty full, the blue mission area will shift slightly inland. Head into this new zone and keep at it, taking down Scabs and Tossers until the meter is high enough again. You'll see the mission area shift one last time. This is the final push, so dive in and finish off those Scabs – there are a lot of Tossers here, so watch out! Keep fighting until that meter is completely maxed out.

Once the meter hits the top, another scene will play, wrapping up this side-quest.
