Embark on every sidequest in Tales of Berseria Remastered! This guide details how to trigger and complete all character sidequests, including boss strategies and item drops.
The following is a list of the character sidequests available in the game and how to trigger each of the events. Note that many of these story events require you to progress to the late game stage to complete them even if individual steps for each storyline can be completed rather early. They also don't appear to be missable, as the events will always occur in order and will not disappear as you progress through the game.
Rokurou's Sidequest
After learning about Code Red Hunts
Head to Danann Highway, north of Loegres, and exit to the northeast to trigger the skit This One Looks Pretty Strong! and then turn and head back to the previous area, cross the bridge, and enter the area with the huge daemon.
Boss: Orc Kong (HP: 25356) - Demihuman, Armored, Fiend
Weakness: Wind
Resistance: Fire, Water
The Orc Kong primarily uses slow attacks that are easy to avoid, but his Royal Majesty ability can easily wipe the group if he uses it frequently at low HP. The AOE damage mixed with the Defense Down, while also covering the majority of the battle field, makes this ability the real issue of the entire fight. Avoid allowing him to use this ability by attacking his many weaknesses to interrupt him, while also keeping soul management in mind. Don't be afraid to use your Mystic Artes and switch party members, using their Mystic Artes as well, to finish this battle quickly and avoid the spamming of Royal Majesty.
Drops: Apprentice's Glacite
You'll trigger the skit Clan Rangetsu automatically after the battle.
After visiting Yseult
Make your way to Reneed and listen to the townsfolk discuss a daemon in Laban Tunnel and then head to the section of Burnack Plateau near Lothringen. Remember that tunnel that I mentioned you should ignore at the bottom of the vines, well that is East Laban Tunnel - your destination.
Head east until you zone to the northeast and open the chest with a Fluoric Paper and then return to the previous area and make your way to the southern exit. Burn through the vines at the first split and head east to a dead end with 1750 Gald and then backtrack to the first split and head directly south. Check the first path to the south for a Panacea Bottle and the second for a Katz Box with the Void Normin Hat (Eizen) and Void Normin Suit (Eizen) and then exit to the east. Check the open area for a Chamomile and Life Bottle and then exit to the northeast and approach Serket.
Boss: Serket (HP: 47672) - Crustacean, Undead, Fiend
Weakness: Neutral, Earth
Resistance: Water
Serket is a scorpion-like undead fiend that uses non-element and water-based attacks on your party, while also trying to cause poison with it's Poisonous Break AOE. Like other "Break" type artes that cast a wide range status ailment field, guarding against the AOE doesn't help avoid the ailment. Focus on interrupting Serket's casting by attacking aggressively and by striking the easy weaknesses with Neutral and Earth-based artes.
Make sure to keep your SG high, in case you lose one due to a status ailment, and don't be afraid to unless a round of Mystic Artes to quickly dwindle its health. Once Serket reaches 50% health, he'll start to use Tail Rain with some frequency - a Break Soul ability that has a 75% chance of causing paralyis.
Drops: Defender's Ventite
After the fight and skit An Order of Execution, check the room for a Death Ward and Denore Bottle and then return to the previous area to warp out of East Laban Tunnel.
After completing the Faldies Ruins
Travel to Port Cadnix and listen to the pirate inside the Inn for a report about a daemon in Vortigern that wishes to challenge Shigure and then use an Inoph Bottle to reach Lothringen. Make your way north along the Burnack Plateau to the main gate of Vortigern and enter the fortress and then head north and east to the eastern rooftop for a scene.
Boss: Lancelot (HP: 76918) - Armored, Undead, Fiend
Weakness: Water
Resistance: Neutral, Fire, Earth
Lancelot is one of the harder bosses you'll have fought so far due to his high stats in all categories, especially Defense. This means that in order to do any serious damage you'll need to create a weak points combo and unleash your Mystic Artes when they can do maximum damage. Velvet's Heaven's Wrath arte will strike the water and Undead weaknesses, while Mega Sonic Thrust and Infernal Torrent should strike the others. Make sure that you get a full weak points combo before theronizing to continue the combo and damage and then unleash a Mystic Arte at the end.
Lancelot has a 2% to instantly defeat any stunned ally, his permanent skill ability, so try and keep him off any stunned allies by aggressively attacking him. Additionally, when he reaches half health you'll need to be wary of his Break Souls arte Light Spear Blast, as it will tear through the HP of your allies, so make sure to sidestep its linear thrust forward.
Drops: Armory Acerite VII
You'll trigger the skit Rangetsu Swords automatically after the fight.
After completing Mt. Killaraus
Head to Loegres and speak with Tabatha to learn of a daemon that Shigure couldn't take down and then head to the Empyrean's Throne and climb the ladder on the eastern side of the area to find the daemon.
Boss: Dragonfolk (HP: 109541) - Armored, Undead, Fiend
Weakness: Wind
Resistance: Neutral, Water, Earth
The Dragonfolk primarily uses earth-based attacks and Slowing Break to hinder your party's movement in battle. While the majority of the dragon's attacks are simple slashes and strikes with its blade, it does have the ability to perform a Fire Breath attack and will gain the Helmsplitter attack when it reaches 50% health. Focus on attacking the Dragonfolk's weakness with Velvet's Mega Sonic Thrust and Infernal Torrent by striking its side or back to avoid the majority of its attacks and you'll make it through this battle alive.
