Complete walkthrough for Atherum in Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition. Includes item locations, enemy strategies, and boss fight details for the Cursed Wanderer.

You can buy items from Kaufman if you ever need to during this place. Your party will be split up. Choose two members to take with Yuri.

When you are ready, enter the first area and head up the stairs to the northwest. Open the chest here for an Ogre Sword. Go back down the stairs and open a nearby chest for a Trident. Look for some stairs leading down into the ship and take them.

Many of the enemies here are invisible and are only visible through the reflections in the mirrors. So be wary of that. Follow the linear path and open a chest with a Lemon Gel along the way.

When you reach a room that has stairs going up, open the chest here for an Orange Gel. Enter the door here and search the room for 3x Magic Lens and a Seal Bottle. Go back to the other room and go up the stairs.

Open a chest here for a Snipe Xiphos. Go through the east door here and open the chest for a Takemikazuchi. Return and go in the door to the west and open the chest here to enter a fight. You will receive a Specific after. Investigate the rest of this room to find a Rice, Dried Seaweed, and Salmon. Return to the previous room and climb the stairs.

Claim a Limit Bottle behind the railing to the right. Go through the door to the east for a Holy Bottle. Go back and continue through the door on the west side of the room for a scene.

The other half of your party takes over now.

Atherum Side Quest

Learn The Recipe For Skewers
Now that we have Patty, we can learn another recipe. Have Patty cook the Miso Soup recipe until you learn the recipe for Skewers.

Board the ship and climb up the mast. Open the chest at the top that contains a Seal Bottle, Limit Bottle, Specific, and a Treat. Go down the broken part of the mast and follow the path. Enter the first door you come upon and search the room for a Pineapple Gel and a Melange Gel. Exit the room and keep following the path. Enter the next door and continue down the hall, collecting a Mat on the way. Follow the path until you reunite with Yuri's party.

Open a chest in this room for an Orange Gel and enter the door to the left to find a Limit Bottle. Save at the healing save point before going upstairs. Check the shelves to the northwest for 4000 Gald and the table for a Seal Bottle. Once you continue far enough to the right, a scene will take over. After the scene, check the bottom right corner of the room for a Pirate Hat. Now check the skeleton sitting at the desk to initiate a scene and a boss fight.

Secret Mission: Knock him down while he reloads his revolver.

Strategy: Don't underestimate this guy's speed. He may be big but he can blitz around the battlefield. He hits hard and extremely fast. His attacks hit a wide area and are very hard to dodge. He can also catch you in very long combos that can put you in stunned status. Have Estelle healing and casting Photon if she manages to get the chance to take advantage of his weakness to light. Have Yuri and another party member as back up keep him busy while Rita and Estelle cast from the back. You will most likely accomplish the Secret Mission with no extra effort on your part.

You will get the Red Box. After the scene, climb up the ladder and open the chest for a Holy Symbol. Use the ladder to climb the mast and open the chest midway up for a Sage. Go to the top and open the chest for 10000 Gald. Head back down to the captain's room and take the left door out for a scene. Then go to the northwest of the platform. After the scene, go down the ladder as well as the next one to the west. Go down to the south end of this platform and lay out another ladder. Go down and leave. Scene.

On the World Map, do not sail anywhere near Nordopolica. As that will activate a scene and pull you off the ship, disrupting what we really want to do next. If you're not sure where Nordopolica is, just maximize the size of your World Map and stay away from the southwest part of the world. We have some side quests to take care of first. So sail northeast back to Capua Nor.

Hatchet: Part 2
Talk to the woman standing by the Inn to learn the Seafood Bowl recipe.

Dedecchi
Check the large back alley near the shop to find Dedecchi.

With these Side Quests done, proceed to Nordopolica. It is at the tip of a continent in the southwest portion of the World Map. When you get close enough, a scene will take over.
