Enchantments are buffs that start appearing on pieces of gear from level 15 onward. You can identify a piece of gear with an enchantment by the orange writing in the middle of its item card. Additionally, when an item with an enchantment drops, its beam will be slightly wider than usual. Each enchantment consists of two parts: how it is activated and the buff it provides. Enchantments with the same activation method and buff will not stack, even if they have different values. However, two different activation methods with the same buff type will stack.

Items that are enchanted have a bigger glow with their beam, and the enchantment is visible on the item card.

Enchantments cannot appear on every piece of gear; Rings, Amulets, and Armor cannot have them. Spells, Melee Weapons, and the Ward will always have enchantments. For guns, only the enchantment on the gun you are currently holding will be active. Most classes will have four enchantments active at any time, with Spellshots using Ambi-Hextrous being the exception with five active enchantments.

How Do You Change Enchantments

For most of the main story, you will use the enchantments you find on your gear. After beating the main story, a service at the blacksmith in Brighthoof unlocks, allowing you to change enchantments. This table is located next to the hammers at the blacksmith and uses Moon Orbs as currency. Moon Orbs are obtained as drops from enemies and bosses, and found throughout the Chaos Chamber. An Enchanter Re-rolling machine can also be found in the Chaos Chamber and Dreamveil Overlook.

The table at the blacksmith allows you to add or change enchantments on items.

Initially, rerolling enchantments cost 2 Moon Orbs, increasing with each reroll until it reached a maximum of just over 4,000 Moon Orbs. An update changed this, with rarity affecting the price; Legendary items now start at 9 Moon Orbs. The price increases for each reroll on the same item, capping at 4,000 Moon Orbs. Your capacity for Moon Orbs is now 16,000. When you roll a new enchantment, you can choose to keep it or discard it and retain the current one.

Tips
  • Look for the orange text on item cards to identify enchanted gear.
  • The wider beam on dropped items indicates an enchantment.
  • Only Spells, Melee Weapons, Wards, and Guns (currently held) can have active enchantments.
  • Beat the main story to unlock the ability to change enchantments at the blacksmith in Brighthoof.
  • Moon Orbs are the currency for changing enchantments and are found from enemy drops, bosses, and the Chaos Chamber.
  • Rerolling costs increase with each attempt but cap at 4,000 Moon Orbs.
