Detailed walkthrough for Tomb Raider II's 'The Deck' level. Includes tips for Trophies like 'Fire Safety' and 'No Fish Soup Today', enemy locations, and item pickups.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Dive into the water immediately, ignoring initial enemies and loot. You will return later.
  2. 2
At the start, a flamethrower enemy appears. Go left, climb onto a ledge overlooking the water. When the flamethrower ignites Lara, run off the edge into the water to extinguish the flames.
  3. 3
Locate a low ledge on the left to exit the water. Deal with the two fish enemies.
  4. 4
Jump around the rocks clockwise to grab the Stern Key (1).
  5. 5
Turn back towards the starting area. Dive into the water, go to the bottom, and then left. Continue through an opening on the right and follow the path. Emerge from the right side of a square opening and quickly use pistols to defeat an advancing enemy (3).
  6. 6
Proceed to the area with the next flamethrower enemy. Stay out of its range and use pistols to defeat it. The water source to extinguish flames is the hole you just exited.
  7. 7
Go forward and left onto a raised blue area, positioning Lara with her back to the flamethrower. Save your game.
  8. 8
Slide down the ramp. Once in range of the flames, run forward until Lara stops, then perform a standing jump to the top of a rise. You may need to refill health.
  9. 9
Side jump left, then perform running jumps until Lara can reach the water and extinguish the flames. Another flamethrower enemy above cannot reach you here.
  10. 10
Return to the raised blue area. From here, you can target and eliminate the flamethrower guy (4) without taking damage.
  11. 11
Across from where the flamethrower was, you'll find movable boxes. Rearrange them: push the lower box closest to the flamethrower opening to create a line of 3 boxes. Push the upper box once in the same direction. Pull and push the first box as close as possible to the extinguished flamethrower opening. Take the next lower box and pull it once to reveal the opening to the stern.
  12. 12
Grab the flares (2) from the floor. Use your Stern Key to open the newly revealed door.
  13. 13
Enter the water through the opened door. Swim clockwise to find an elevated switch on the wall. Activate it, then exit the water.
  14. 14
A shotgun (5) is now available where the flamethrower guy was. You can try to shoot him from here, but it may cause damage. To defeat him without taking damage, run to the base of his platform and use the Vertical Leap technique. Ensure he doesn't die on a slanted surface, preventing recovery of the shotgun shells (3).
  15. 15
The metal hatch on the floor at the far end is a trap door. Step on it and take a short fall. Proceed to the end of the passage and climb a ladder. Dismount to the right and throw a switch to drain the water from the ship's stern.
  16. 16
Backtrack into the ship's stern and safety drop into the pit that previously held water. Find the movable crate, pull it twice, and… (walkthrough continues in source text).
Tips
  • Trophy Alert -- Fire Safety (4 of 9): The first flamethrower enemy appears at the beginning. Use the water to extinguish flames.
  • Trophy Alert -- Fire Safety (5 of 9): Another flamethrower enemy is in a raised opening ahead. Use the water from the hole you just exited to put out flames. Practice this sequence before attempting it for real.
  • When fighting enemies with clubs in open spaces, pistols are effective. In cramped areas, auto pistols are generally sufficient.
  • If pursuing Trophies, expect a kill count of around 24. You must not damage 3 sharks or a barracuda and 2 frogmen to earn the 'No Fish Soup Today' Trophy.
  • One large Medi Pack was used after dropping onto the boat with the Cabin Key, but it wasn't strictly necessary as only a sliver of health was lost later.
  • Inventory was increased for all ammo types, despite using grenades and Uzi ammo on two club guys on a slope.
  • The level was less tough than expected, possibly due to familiarity with New Game+.

Pickups: 35; Trophies: 4; Kills: 30* (likely 24 if pursuing Trophies)
