Complete the Race for the Iris level in Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation. Learn the fastest paths to earn Trophies and beat Von Croy.
Walkthrough
- 1Begin the level by sliding down a ramp. Before Lara hits the ground, create a Quick Save. This will be your primary starting point for retries.
- 2Skip the initial (cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically)) and immediately hold Up and Sprint as soon as you regain control to pass Von Croy.
- 3Sprint through the upcoming opening. The path will curve right, then left, then left again. Sprint briefly during straight sections, prioritizing control.
- 4Make a running jump across the first gap. Stop immediately upon landing and perform a standing jump to the next ledge.
- 5From the top of the ledge, run off the right side into the pit. Ahead, you will find an opening covered by leaves.
- 6Alternatively, make another running jump before dropping down. Go near the wall, stop, and run off the end to the right, aiming for a short ramp below to maintain momentum.
- 7Run through the opening and make a running jump to the right, landing in an elevated opening. Aim carefully as the opening is not visible until late.
- 8Navigate the winding passage: right, left, left, right, and left again.
- 9You will emerge in front of a gap before a doorway. Make a tight running jump/grab across the gap to the doorway. Falling into the pit means missing the time limit; use the block in the far right corner to climb out if necessary, but this will guarantee failure.
- 10Quickly turn right after rounding the next corner and sprint to the end, where the path bends right again.
- 11Choose between overhead monkey bars (slowest option) or making a running jump into the pit and climbing the wall at the other end (recommended).
- 12Round the corner and make a running jump into the pit, likely landing on a tree root. Perform a standing jump forward to get close to the wall.
- 13Continue navigating the course, making running jumps and climbs as needed.
- 14For the second obstacle course, follow similar principles of sprinting and precise jumping.
- 15The level concludes after successfully completing both obstacle courses within their respective time limits.
Tips
- Consider using Classic graphics over Updated graphics, as Classic renderings often appear brighter in dark areas.
- A Quick Save can only have one instance at a time; creating a new one overwrites the previous one.
- If Von Croy blocks your path (e.g., by shutting a gate or destroying a bridge), you are likely already too far behind to meet the time limit. Reload your game.
- Avoid the monkey bars in the second obstacle course; climbing the wall after jumping into the pit is significantly faster and crucial for meeting the time limit.
- In New Game+, you only need to beat Von Croy, not the time limit, on the long course.
- The source notes finding 1 small medipack and 3 large medipacks during a playthrough, though the small one was not picked up.
- Medipack counts: Start with 2 small, 1 large. Find 1 small, 3 large. End with 3 small, 4 large.
