Battlefield 1 Part 33 covers the Mosin-Nagant M91, Gewehr 98, and Tripwire Bomb HE. Learn how to get kills and assists.

Mosin-Nagant M91 (Marksman variant)

The Mosin-Nagant M91 is a bolt-action rifle that entered Russian service in 1891. The Marksman variant features a magnifying scope but has slower recoil recovery. It fires at up to 56 RPM from an internal magazine holding five rounds. It delivers a one-hit kill on shots to the upper torso at ranges between 60 and 100 metres.

Gewehr 98 (Marksman variant)

To get 50 kills with the Gewehr 98 (Marksman variant), you can purchase it for 200 warbonds at Scout rank 3. This weapon has a slow 50-RPM fire-rate and a small five-round ammunition capacity. It provides a one-hit kill on chest shots from approximately 80 to 125 metres.

Tripwire Bomb HE

To get 15 kills with the Tripwire Bomb HE, you can use this gadget which is available by default. It is an explosive (artillery shell) connected to a tripwire that detonates when an enemy moves through it. Initially, it dealt a maximum of 80 damage (or 72 versus the Flak perk), but this was increased to 85 damage (or 76 with Flak) in the October 2017 patch. This is not enough to kill an enemy at full health (100) but can result in an "assist counts as kill" if a teammate kills a Flak user shortly after they trigger your bomb. The tripmine is best used hidden in locations where players are likely to run through it, such as behind corners in buildings and trenches, especially near objectives and spawns. It is also effective in Team Deathmatch mode due to smaller maps and more mobile players. One method to farm kills is to plant a mine on a stationary enemy and shoot them once in the body with a sniper rifle; the close-range shot will do around 80 damage, and the mine will trigger when they move. Since the November 2017 update, a Scout player can have two tripwire bombs deployed simultaneously, and since the December 2017 patch, they spawn with two tripmines without needing to resupply. The January 2018 update enforced a minimum distance (roughly one metre) between tripmines, preventing the tactic of planting two next to each other for increased damage. However, the HE tripmine now deals double damage when triggered by a sprinting enemy, potentially allowing for instant kills even on targets with full health.

SMLE Mk.III (Infantry variant)

To get 3 headshot (a shot that lands on the enemy's head, usually an instant kill) kills with the SMLE Mk.III (Infantry variant) in one match, you can buy the Infantry "Smelly" for 200 warbonds. It fires at 52 RPM from a ten-round magazine and, like most Scout rifles, delivers a one-hit kill on a headshot at any range.

Mars Automatic

To get 20 kills with the Mars Automatic, you can buy this sidearm, exclusive to the Scout class, for 150 warbonds. It fires at 199 RPM, holds eleven rounds, and delivers a three-hit kill out to 22 metres and a four-hit kill to 28 metres.

M1903 (Experimental variant)

To get 15 kills with the M1903 (Experimental variant), you can buy it for 200 warbonds at Scout rank 1. This semi-automatic variant of the Springfield fires at 360 RPM and has a large detachable 40-round magazine, but it deals less damage, resulting in a three-hit kill out to 12 metres.

Trench Periscope

To get 20 periscope spot assists, you can unlock the trench periscope (gadget) for 60 warbonds. It combines binoculars and a periscope for spotting enemies at long range, potentially while behind cover (cover), and includes a basic range-finder. After equipping and selecting the periscope, hold the left trigger to zoom. Keeping an enemy in the center of your scope will automatically spot them with a red outline, similar to the effect on the kill-cam. The spot is lost if they move behind cover and break your line of sight. Earning one Periscope Spot Bonus occurs if a spotted enemy is killed. This gadget works best on large, open maps for spotting enemies at long range; focus on spotting players your teammates can reach.

Vetterli-Vitali M1870/87 (Infantry variant)

The Vetterli-Vitali M1870/87 (Infantry variant) fires at a slow 46 RPM from a small four-round internal magazine, which can be reloaded with individual cartridges or a stripper clip when empty. It also has an unusually slow bullet velocity. It delivers a one-hit kill on chest shots at very short ranges (20 to 50 metres), allowing for more aggressive play, but you need to land your first shot.

Vetterli-Vitali M1870/87 (Carbine variant)

The Carbine version of the Vetterli-Vitali M1870/87 has better accuracy in hipfire and/or when moving but takes longer to recover from recoil. It fires at a slow 46 RPM from a small four-round internal magazine.

SMLE Mk.III (Carbine variant)

To get 50 kills with the SMLE Mk.III (Carbine variant), you can buy the Carbine "Smelly" for 200 warbonds at Scout rank 3. It fires at 52 RPM from a ten-round magazine and gives a one-hit kill.
