Lion Cub Locations and Uses

Discover where to find Lion Cubs in Conan Exiles on both the Exiled Lands and the Isle of Siptah. Learn how to tame them and their combat uses.

Lions are a powerful mid to late-game pet in Conan Exiles, obtainable only by capturing a Lion Cub. These cubs are found alongside adult Lions, making their acquisition a dangerous task that often involves fighting multiple adult Lions. Cubs must be picked up and placed directly into your inventory. Unlike other pets, Lions do not hatch from eggs. Once you have a Lion Cub, you'll need to place it in an Animal Pen with meat to begin the taming process.

There are two primary Lion variants: the standard Lion and the Greater Lion. An additional DLC variant, the Elite Black Lion, was available through the Age of Sorcery: Chapter 2 Battle Pass using Sorcerous Pet Food.

Lion Stats and Growth

The type of meat placed in the Animal Pen influences the chance of hatching a specific variant. Using Shadespiced Raw Tough Meat offers the highest chance, at 25%, for a Greater Lion. All Lions have 10 inventory slots and can receive stat buffs from meat placed in their inventory. They are excellent for base defense or as companions during exploration, though acquiring one is challenging for low-level characters with basic gear.

Lions begin with 1 Grit and a 7% boost to Agility and Strength Damage. Greater Lions start with 3 Strength and 8 Grit, plus a 10% boost to Agility and Strength Damage. Like all pets, Lions can level up to 20 by following you and engaging in combat. Stat gains upon leveling are randomized (RNG). Your Lion's current stats can be checked via the interaction wheel's stat section.

Lion Cub Locations

Exiled Lands

Lion Cubs are scarce in the Exiled Lands and do not spawn with adult Lions in the central Savannah. To find a cub, travel to the border between map Sections 10A and 10B. There, you can find a Lion lounging on a rock with a cub roaming behind it. Be prepared, as Lions are considered mini-bosses and will require a significant fight.

Isle of Siptah

On the Isle of Siptah, Lions spawn in a limited area on the southern island. Head to map Section 5K. You may find a single Lion Cub here, often hidden by tall grass. This area also features several adult Lions, and its small size can make combat more challenging than in the Exiled Lands.
