Hawkwood the Deserter: Npc Quests 2827

Hey there! So, you're looking to get the most out of your journey in Dark Souls III, and that includes helping out old Hawkwood. He's got a bit of a questline that spans across the game, and it's totally worth doing for some neat rewards. Let's break down how to get through it step-by-step.

After defeating the Curse-rotted Greatwood:

First things first, once you've taken down the Curse-rotted Greatwood, head back to Firelink Shrine. Find Hawkwood there and have a chat with him. He'll give you a Heavy Gem. Don't forget to grab it!

After defeating the Abyss Watchers:

Next up, after you've managed to best the Abyss Watchers, make your way back to Firelink Shrine again. Hawkwood will have something for you – the Farron Ring. Easy peasy.

Defeat the Curse-rotted Greatwood, Crystal Sage, and Abyss Watchers:

This is a bit of a bigger step. Once you've defeated all three of those bosses – the Curse-rotted Greatwood, the Crystal Sage, and the Abyss Watchers – go talk to Hawkwood in Firelink Shrine. Exhaust all of his dialogue options. After you've done that, leave Firelink Shrine and then come back (just resting at the bonfire will do). You should find Hawkwood's Shield lying on the ground outside, near the Starved Hound statue, right in front of a gravestone. It's a nice bit of gear, so grab it!

After reaching Archdragon Peak:

This is where things get a little more involved. To even get to Archdragon Peak, you'll need the “Path of a Dragon” gesture. You get this by beating Oceiros, the Consumed King. Once you have it, make your way to the Great Belfry bonfire in Archdragon Peak. From there, head past the bonfire towards a cliff edge and an altar. Use the “Path of Dragon” gesture there, and you'll get the Twinkling Dragon Torso Stone. Pretty cool, right?

Now, head back to Firelink Shrine and find Andre the Blacksmith. He'll have a message from Hawkwood for you. After getting that message, you'll need to travel to the Abyss Watchers bonfire. Hawkwood will show up there for a duel. If you win, you'll get the Twinkling Dragon Head Stone. This is the final reward from his questline, so congrats!

• 1,000 Souls
• Heavy Gem or Farron Ring (if you didn't get them already during his quest)
