Walkthrough
  1. 1
Before entering the Catacombs, visit Andre the Blacksmith. Give him the Occult Club and have him downgrade it into a Divine Club. This weapon is crucial for defeating Skeletons that would otherwise respawn.
  2. 2
Make your way to the graveyard behind Firelink Shrine and find the stairs leading down into the Catacombs on the lower left side. Equip your Divine Club.
  3. 3
As you descend, hug the wall and defeat any Skeletons. Be aware of Wisps, which are red skulls that explode when you get close. Listen for their scream and run away to avoid the blast.
  4. 4
Continue through the area, descending a ladder to a lower room. Defeat the Skeletons here.
  5. 5
Enter the room on the left and clear out the Skeletons. Proceed through the hole in the wall to find a Necromancer. Defeating this Necromancer will stop Skeletons in the vicinity from respawning. Note that Necromancers do not respawn.
  6. 6
After defeating the first Necromancer, pull the lever next to the Bonfire to open a later door, and then rest at the Bonfire.
  7. 7
Proceed onwards to a cliff edge with a large pit. You can choose to drop down section by section to reach the bottom quickly, or take the scenic route through the labyrinthine paths.
  8. 8
Cross the bridge back inside. Kill the second Necromancer and any accompanying Skeletons.
  9. 9
Enter the small dead end on the right to find the Lucerne.
  10. 10
Continue through the area. Be cautious of Skeleton corpses, as they may revive. Kill the Archer Skeleton by the broken wall and grab the Large Soul of a Nameless Soldier.
  11. 11
Run outside to find more Wisps along the cliff face. Avoid the statues that shoot knives. The Ring of Fog can help mitigate the threat of Wisps. At the end of this path, find a Soul of a Proud Knight. Pull the lever on the column to flip a spiked bridge.
  12. 12
Cross the bridge and defeat the two Skeletons. Deal with the third Necromancer across the bridge.
  13. 13
Enter the hole to the right. Stand on the darker side of the floor to fall to a room below. Equip the Halberd and run into the next room to find two Crystal Lizards. Quit and reload if you miss them. They drop Twinkling Titanite x4 and other upgrade materials.
  14. 14
Climb the ladder and stand on the darker patch of ground to drop back to the area with the spike bridge lever. Re-equip your Divine Club.
  15. 15
Go beyond where the third Necromancer was and descend the spiral stairs. In the second room on the right, find a Soul of a Proud Knight in front of a spiked statue. Block before grabbing it.
  16. 16
Take the next right into a larger room. Kill any Skeletons and grab a Soul of a Proud Knight from the wall.
  17. 17
Continue down the spiral stairs. A fourth Necromancer is in a cubbyhole. Kill it and push the lever to open a door back up the stairs. Go through this door.
  18. 18
The path forward leads to a vast drop. Take the left path, then left again. At the very end, strike the illusory wall to find a Bonfire.
  19. 19
Run towards the bridge ahead. Before reaching it, the bridge will spin. Take the ladder just to the right of the illusory wall to find Patches.
  20. 20
Talk to Patches before crossing the bridge. If you are not a Cleric, he will give you a Soul of a Lost Undead or Humanity.
Tips
  • Skeletons will constantly respawn unless killed with a Divine Weapon or their summoning Necromancer is defeated.
  • The Divine Club can knock Skeletons down, allowing for free hits.
  • Avoid attacking Skeletons when they have their weapon in front of their face, as they can parry you.
  • Wisps cannot be killed; run away when they scream to avoid their AoE explosion.
  • Necromancers are the primary source of Skeleton revivals and do not respawn. Prioritize killing them if you lack a Divine Weapon.
  • Crystal Lizards drop valuable upgrade materials. If you miss them, quitting and reloading the game can respawn them in the same location.
  • Be cautious of spiked statues and illusory walls.
  • Patches can be found near a Bonfire after a spinning bridge. He offers a choice of items depending on your dialogue choices.
