After the initial meeting with the King, take control of Ragnar. Examine the drawer in the southeastern part of the room to find a Medicinal Herb. Leave The King's Castle.

Arrive in Burland town. Break the barrels outside the item shop (right side) for 3 Coins.

Go to the inn (southern end) and break the barrels outside for a Medicinal Herb.

Head west of the inn to a plain house. Open the chest behind the northern wall to find a Seed of Strength.

Go to the armor shop (northeastern end) and enter through the right door. Upstairs, find a free Leather Shield in a locker. Equip it.

Head northwest on the world map to Burland Cavern.
